Mystery Jets han vuelto con su nuevo disco, Radlands . Eso es. Se trata de un disco de estudio, y es completamente nuevo (salió a la venta a finales de abril). Aclaro esto porque últimamente cada vez que oigo hablar de ellos también lo hago de uno de los bombazos del mencionado LP, “Greatest Hits”, que es precisamente eso, uno de los temas que lo componen, y en ningún caso un grandes éxitos aunque esa sea la traducción literal del nombre. Mystery Jets added a whole bunch of Americana to their sound on recent release, Radlands , and the video for “Greatest Hits” further illustrates the band’s new found infatuation with the States. There’s not many better ways to show your true patriotism than taking a girl out to the fair and showing her the time of her life. U.K. pop ensemble Mystery Jets have been a Next Big Thing for about four albums now, their 2006 debut "Making Dens" (released as "Zootime" by Dim Mak in the U.S.) earning a lot of attention, and their ensuing two albums of hooky ditties occasionally exhilarating, consistently witty but mostly merely amiable. For their fourth album "Radlands" (out this month on Rough Trade), they took up residence near Austin, Texas, but only some of the album sounds like it. The Mystery Jets' Radlands, released back in April, was a very pleasing listen. Our very own Catherine Hawkes, when summing it up, pondered that "the recording of Radlands in Texas has injected the band with a heavy influence of Americana to their beloved Anglo-pop sound, and you know what, they pull it of with applaudable ease." Got another new Mystery Jets jam to share with you all. “Greatest Hits” is a good-time acoustic led number, that is in great  contrast to previously dramatic single, “Someone Purer”.  I get scared anytime a greatest hits is attached to any artist, but luckily it appears as just interesting subject matter in the lyrics. Besides a Belle & Sebastian reference in the song, the song definitely appears to be influenced heavily by the duo. Radlands , is so close away, with the June 5th release date ever so soon.

The Mystery Jets will have their 4th album Radlands hitting North America on June 5th. They are also set to tour with Keane in June and will be playing SLC, UT on June 26th, at The Gallivan Center.
