In honor of the last post (Lightfoot's Rudimentals) and that today is Friday, I'm going continue the electronic vibe with this extremely dope remix to Nas' "The Don" by future-trap producer Tom Wrecks. As a 22 year old, I like to have songs in mind for every party situation, and this one is the catalyst to the party. Right after you've heard either too much 2chainz or Aviici, hit this up and things will shakeup for the better.
If you haven't checked out Nas's new album, make your you do. The man is very emotional when he raps and tells his stories.

Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones aka Nasty Nas is finally back with his first independent album since his controversial Untitled album (2008). And after taking it all in, I can't help but notice the amount of thought and the man himself that went into this album. Produced largely by No I.D. and Salaam Remi, you get all of Nas in this one-his fears, his dreams, his troubled past, his headaches from fame, his perception of riches, and his pain. Compared to his previous albums, Nas features the women in, and out, of his life [...]
On his 10th album, Nas delivers a slightly modernized version of the same ol' same ol'. WATCH THE REVIEW

Hopefully Massive Attack is in the studio working on a new album too. Hear their remix to "The Don" below: [...]
This is the result of when two epic forces in music collide. The legendary Massive Attack, partial pioneers of what many now call 'Trip Hop', do a number on Nas' The Don off his... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

The official video for Nas's 2nd single from Life Is Good was directed by Aristotle and features The Don in a pimped out Rolls riding through his empire. Get the album July 17th. previously: Nas - Daughters Watch: Nas - The Don (Video) |
It's nice to see that not all videos are filmed on a flip cam these days. So hats off to Nas for investing a bit of coin in his latest effort for 'The Don'. There's no flashy visual effects here mind you, just New York City as a rather spectacular backdrop, courtesy of plenty of aerial shots. That's what Def Jam dollars brings. 'The Don' shines the light on the two sides of Nas: the urbane playboy who likes the finer things in life (good food, good women and chequered woollen pants...seriously); [...]

Nasty Nas just keeps keeping on these days, doesn't he? Following on from the reggaefied banger 'The Don' (the video of which is due tomorrow), Nasir switches down the pace a little with a No I.D. produced gem, 'Daughters', and ode to... you guessed it, daughters. Nas is in a reflective mood on this one, waxing lyrical on the trials and tribulations of raising a young girl these days over a suitably serene beat. It is a family story, after all. 'Daughters' is due to appear on [...]

To me, NAS is everything in real HIP HOP music. I admit, I've dissed Rap & Hip Hop recently. But when NAS comes out of the BLUE on a sleep album that has everything a Hip Hop head could want, (Lyrics, Beats, Skills) it's hard not to give props, where props are desereved! Thank you for restoring my Hip Hop faith in 2012! I will buy this album and not download it! You killed this one NAS!
