Nas - Daughters " And I ain't trying to mess your thing up But I want to see you dream up... The way mothers feel for they sons how fathers feel for their daughters When he date, he straight chip off his own poppa When she date, we wait behind the door with a sawed off Cause we think no one is good enough for our daughters " - Nas I have never rocked with Nas. I [...]
Rumour has it that Drake did the promo last year and gave Blaine Gabbert a shout out...

Austin, Texas blues man Gary Clark Jr. & Nas re-work the title track from Clark's Bright Lights EP for the 2012 NFL Draft. I'm about to roll to Coachella to see this guy perform! via ANDREW Gary Clark Jr. - Bright Lights ft. Nas |
In the latest installment of VH12s Behind The Music series, Nas discusses the ups and downs of his illustrious career. You know that Kelis divorce still stings. One of the best episodes of BTM in a while. Oh yeah, motherfucker. This that shit. Watch Nas's VH1 Behind The Music |
One of the things I hate the most about Hip-Hop is when artists make pointless follow-ups to classic records/albums. "Black Girl Lost " is one of the best songs off of arguably Nas' best album, 19962s It Was Written . And while this 2012 version has a positive message, it's nowhere near as good as the original. Nas - Another Black Girl Lost In my opinion, Nas is the greatest rapper to ever touch a microphone. Since he's my favorite emcee, I'm often very critical of every career decision he [...]

If you didn't know, Nicki Minaj's next album is due next week. I haven't really been checking out the leaks form the album but I gave "Champion" a spin because of the line up, which don't dissapoint but the track as a whole falls pretty short. Also why didn't anyone offer Jeezy a cough drop?

I seriously can't stand her, but even I have to admit this jawn is flames. Well done, Nicki. Nicki Minaj - Champion ft. Drake, Young Jeezy & Nas Who had the best verse? For me, it's a deadlock between Jeezy and Nas. Jizzle went hard, but this is honestly the best verse I've heard from Esco in years. Tough call. Listen: Nicki Minaj - Champion ft. Drake, Young Jeezy & Nas |

Nas has released his second single (6 months after the first) from Life is Good on which there is no release date yet. Heavy reggae influences; it's too noisy for my personal liking but of course it's always hard to rival his rhyme game.

Got some new Nas for you just in time for the weekend. And just in case you were wondering if Nas was still relevant in the rap scene, this track already has 100k listens and it's only been out for just over half a day. Overall "The Don" is a pretty good tune and it's nice to hear the signature flow of Nas hasn't been affected at all by the change in the Hip Hop scene as of late. Beat's a little whack for me, but it just may take a little getting used to. Look [...]

Nasty Nas is dropping the 2nd single from his upcoming Life Is Good , "The Don" later this evening but Rap Genius already has the lyrics up. Nas was the obvious choice to be the first rapper to get a verified account on the popular site. Check out his explanations of songs like "Get Down" here and look for the single to drop later. RG will have explanations from the man himself. Check out the official Rap Genius interview with Nas below: [...]

Tyga - King & Queens ft. Wale & Nas The most anticipated track from T-Raw The Ruler's Careless World: Rise of the Last King , in stores February 21st. YMCMBizne$$ *slow hand rub*
Here it is, the lost installment that some of you were asking for. From now on, you could expect a new Hip-Hop playlist every first of the month. Anyways, this playlist was from our old site, and we'd like to thank you guys for supporting us since the beginning. Thanks, and keep spinning. ..... Dope beats, dope rhymes, this hip-hop sh*t really ain't that hard. Enjoy this playlist of some of my favorite hip-hop tracks. Don't be quick to judge what isn't on the list, since putting literally every good hip-hop song is impossible. Enjoy! [...]

You know how fast the blog world can move. I was really into Somali-Canadian rapper/singer K'NAAN & J. Period's The Messenger series, then kind of stopped paying attention. Apparently K'NAAN did the 2010 World Cup anthem, but I can't be troubled by things like Futbol. As far as I'm concerned, K'NAAN is back with 'Nothing To Lose' alongside (my Queensbridge homey) Nas. Check out a lyric video for the track & the tracklist to K'NAAN's upcoming EP More Beautiful Than Silence below: [...]
Earlier we posted Nas & Premier's first collaboration in over a decade from the upcoming RE:GENERATION documentary, and now we've got the video for you. Our friend Bando works at the production house editing the documentary (also featuring Pretty Lights, The Crystal Method, Mark Ronson & Skrillex) and he recently revealed to me that SKRILLEX is pouting because he's got bad acne in the film. He's even paying out of pocket to have his face edited. Fuck that guy. But long live Nas & Preem! drink the kool aid:

Mobb Deep - Get It ft. Nas Been waiting for this. Don't have headphones in the office today, but I can only assume it's another classic Nas & Mobb Deep collabo . Black Cocaine coming soon. Sniff. drink the kool aid:
So, as many famous artists do, Amy Winehouse is releasing an album from the grave due out December 5th.. This contains many unreleased songs and unfinished songs, such as this beaut, featuring one of my favorite rappers, Nas. Turns out, Amy was a huge fan of his and recorded this song in 2008. I can't say that I was ever the biggest fan of hers, but after hearing this it makes me sad that there

Here's your gorgeous track of the day. Although this track was recorded in 2008, it will be featured on Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures , a posthumous album featuring previously unreleased tracks from the recently passed singer. Based on some of the content (references to Wall Street protests and such), it seems like Nas may have laid down a new verse or two on the track as well. Either way, damn, it sounds good. Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures will drop on December 5th. [...]
