After debating on twitter for the last few days on what Nas' new single "Daughters" would sounds like I gotta say I'm impressed. Nas made a heartfelt song about his teenage daughter growing up and being a single father. No ID production always seems to bring out something in artists he works with. This definitely makes up for that "Black Girl Lost 23 leak. Nas' forthcoming album Life is Good is set to drop in July 17th. Download: Nas - "Daughters" p. No ID [Right Click, Save-As]
Nas - Daughters " And I ain't trying to mess your thing up But I want to see you dream up... The way mothers feel for they sons how fathers feel for their daughters When he date, he straight chip off his own poppa When she date, we wait behind the door with a sawed off Cause we think no one is good enough for our daughters " - Nas I have never rocked with Nas. In record time , Queens' own Nas has unveiled "Daughters", the third single from his forthcoming 10th studio album, Life Is Good . Premiered earlier this afternoon by Power 105.12s DJ Prostyle, the No I.D.-produced cut sees the Illmatic One take the blame for his daughter's potential romantic mishaps ("She was taught and raised like a princess, but while I'm on the stage I can't leave her defenseless/She heard stories of her daddy thuggin'/ So if her husband is a gangster can't be mad, I love her"). No I.D. on the track, let the story begin. Power 105.'s DJ Prostyle just debuted Nas' latest single, featuring production from the Windy's own Dion. This is too nice. 01-daughters-dirty RR .

When some of the most popular music publications on the Internet began posting their picks for the “Best Albums of 2011,” I allowed myself a little “I do my job better than you do” smile. Why? Because publishing a “Best Albums of 2011” list before December 20, the day that Common’s The Dreamer/The Believer drops, is a bit like handing out medals for snowboarding at the Winter X Games before Shaun White takes his runs. Premature is an understatement. Is The Dreamer/The Believer the best album of the entire year? No, I stand by [...]
I know I've been hyping Common's new album, "The Dreamer, The Believer", to death but everything I've read, heard, seen or listened to has me as amped as a nerd reading about the new season of "Game... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]
While No I.D. was certainly a production force in the '90s, it seems like he is bigger than ever nearly 20 years later. To commemorate this great talent, one that has contributed to the rise of many great hip-hop talents, Al Lindstrom and the Lost Tapes collaborated on putting out a fabulous compilation. The collection of tracks includes No I.D. production masterpieces from 1992 to 2011, which you can figure is going to be rather eclectic. In fact, you will see features from just about everyone on there, including G-Unit, Common, Big Boi, Rick Ross, Cee-Lo and [...]

In an interview with Billboard.com's The Juice , No I.D. has confirmed that he's given Jay-Z records for his new album, and that he's also contributing to both Common and Nas' projects. Talk about locking in with some of the greats. "Jay has started again," reveals No I.D., who worked with the hip-hop superstar on "Blueprint 33 hits like "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" and "Run This Town." "He played me a couple of things. I gave him some music while we were at the 'Watch the Throne' sessions. But with Jay, you never know what [...]
While their buddies are content with having a good time and bragging about their resume two of hip-hops best lyrical pioneers, Common and Nas, bring us 'Ghetto Dreams'. The raw and gritty No I.D. production takes the feeling of the tune back to the 90’s. This is the lead single off of Common's 9th studio [...]
Here's the full visual for one of the best Hip Hop songs to come out this year, Common's first single 'Ghetto Dreams' off his upcoming 'The Dreamer, The Believer' LP. From Chicago to Queens, 2 of Hip Hop's finest on No I.D.'s instrumental, that's a winner in anybody's books.

Here at A Grumpy Old Man With A Beard, the appreciation of masterpieces of the facial hair variety is obviously high . While my own beard is more designer stubble these days (that's a euphemism for a few days without shaving, truth be told), I yearn for the good old days when my facial carpet had a touch of the wild and woolly to it. So hats off to Common, who has made the boldest of statements in his latest video by rocking a beard that would make [...]

Yesterday in Los Angeles, Common, Nasir and No I.D. linked to shoot the visual for their monster "Ghetto Dreams." No word on the director or when we can expect the clip, but we do have a few pics from the video set. Those two aren't playing around...
No I.D., the producer behind Resurrection and the lion's share of Can I Borrow A Dollar , is working with Common again. Their upcoming album will be titled The Dreamer, The Believer , and its first single, "Ghetto Dreams," featuring Nas, just dropped. I'm psyched for this release because I think it's a chance to capture some of that old 902s hip-hop magic. In terms of pure, intelligent commentary on the mic (to say nothing of their excellent flow), Common and Talib Kweli (not featured here) particularly stand out in that decade's offerings. Here's [...]

A quick, behind the scenes glimpse of Com and Nas hanging out during the making of "Ghetto Dreams." It's good to see two of Hip-Hop's best lyricists from the mid-90s together and Com recently revealed that No I.D. will be producing the whole shebang for his 9th studio album and Warner Bros. debut. The "Ghetto Dreams" single is available on iTunes .
