As soon as the strings wheeze out of your speakers on "Queens Shit", you might question why Aasim decided to use the beat from Raekwon's "Rich & Black". But then Nas walks in and spits, "Yo, I'm rich, black, the 6, the 'Lac, the Phantom, the strap, stay on my back," and everything makes sense. You see, Nas also appeared on that Rae track, which is one of those "ooooh!" moments that makes this track that much better. Not that it needed anything like that, because this is some pure, well, "Queens Shit" through and through. Enjoy.

Out of Australia via Atlanta, Iggy Azalea is one of the hottest new female rap star in the game. Having spent 2012 turning heads & garnering the respect of industry + hip hop heavy-weights Iggy has signed a deal with Mercury Records here in the UK. Iggy Azalea’s original cult classic mixtape ‘Ignorant Art’, catapulted her into the limelight in 2011, shortly followed by the 6 track Glory EP which featured a track with Mike Posner, BOB + Pusha T. May last year brought Steve Aoki’s incredible hit “Beat Down” [...]

I think I'm officially hitting my "The Message" level of what-the-fuck-itude with radio "freestyles." Look, we know that only a handful of MCs actually rap off the top of the head these days and many times they're just reciting written verse that wouldn't otherwise be heard. But at the same time, I'm all, "Well, these are basically like those 'blend tapes' that some DJs put together." You know, like this great one that DJ Critical Hype put together last year for Kendrick Lamar . Speaking of the Compton spitter, he dropped by Funkmaster Flex's Hot97 [...]
OK, so we're getting a little meta here. I think... Anyway, last week we featured Sango's ill-ass remix of Nas' "Owe Me" single. And now, just a few days later, Ta-ku has chosen to remix that remix. A remix of a remix? Crazy. And awesome, because this shit fucking goes. All I'm saying is: Sound the airhorn, y'all, and get ready to wyl' out. Download and stream the remix below. Download: Sango - "Owe Me" (Ta-ku Remix) [Mediafire]
While Dead Prez is making some questionable music lately, it seems that one half of the revolutionary duo is on the right track. M12s new single, "Genocide Highway", finds him linking with Nas over a bright, funky production from Beatnick & K-Salaam, who also handle the scratches on the hook. The heavy track is a dedication to Denmark Vesey, who planned a massive slave revolt in the 1800s only to be found out, convicted, and executed. Stream/download it below.
Man, remember when "You Owe Me" dropped at the turn of the century and everyone was all, "Yo, Nas, WTF, mang?" Well, you have probably forgotten about all that because Nas ' releases have been on the incline in terms of quality since Nastradamus . But Grand Rapids, Mich.-based producer Sango has a friendly reminder here that "You Owe Me" might not have been a completely loss. He has transformed the Ginuwine -featured track into a dance-ready jam filled with handclaps and infectious hook-y vocal cuts. Check it out below.

Meek drops a track that sounds like it will be the closer for his upcoming shows. No DJ on this one. This requires a backing band for sure. Dreams & Nightmares is dropping later this month and I read Bronsalini say that the intro is incredible on the Twit. "Maybach Curtains" features Rozay , Nas , and John Legend . That's big for the youngblood's debut album. MEEK MILL FEAT. NAS, RICK ROSS, & JOHN LEGEND - MAYBACH CURTAINS
Sourface returns with a pair of striking Nas remixes. He's taken on "Life's a Bitch" and "Mastermind", both of which receive the mellow, laid-back treatment from the U.K. producer. As you take a listen below, you might find yourself thinking, "Well, did these really need to be remixed?" Of course not, but Sourface breathes new life into Nas' rhymes and allows you to enjoy his words in a new setting. So just kick back and enjoy.

Oh wow , y'all. DJ Sav One and DJ Dyllemma have put together a fucking ILL project with their FreeOfStyle mixtape. It compiles 35 rare freestyles from the likes of Nas , Q-Tip , Mos Def , Notorious B.I.G. , Kool G Rap , Lord Finesse , and many more. The DJ duo apparently copped all these rhymes by digging through their vinyl collections, which means some of these will probably be new to you. Check it out below. What's DJ Khaled doing on Potholes, you ask? Well, he has a song on his new album, Kiss The Ring , that we simply cannot deny. It's "Hip Hop" and it features Scarface and Nas trading verses over a slick J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League production. Not only that, but it boasts some scratches from DJ Premier. Yeah, it's impossible to not get gassed over this, even if it's another hip-hop-as-a-female song. Stream it below (with Flex bombs). [ via ]

I know I can't be the only person who thinks that Slaughterhouse should be focusing on tracks like "Weight Scale". And by that I mean tracks where they just rap, rap, and RAP over killer production. Of course, in this case they have lucked out by hopping on Salaam Remi's beat for "Nasty", as "Weight Scale" will appear on the quartet's upcoming mixtape with DJ Drama. So what's everyone think? Who had the best verse here and are you looking forward to the mixtape? [ via ]

Os dejo con el esperado nuevo disco de NAS "Life is Good" en streaming, vía 3voor12 , un disco con unas muy buenas primeras impresiones y que cuenta, ente otras, con la colaboración de Amy Winehouse , tampoco os olvidéis del remix que Massive Attack le hizo a “The Don”.
Well, THIS is cool. Veteran NYC DJ Gudtyme just uploaded this little gem to his Soundcloud. It’s a time capsule from the summer of 1991, featuring a young Nas and Akinyele going back and forth on some classic NYC beats. For a twenty-year-old cassette recording, it sounds great- the verses are (literally) vintage, top-notch Nas, and Akinyele provides a great counterpoint to his snarling, hungry young delivery. They run through a smattering of old-school party beats in just six and a half minutes, bringing you back to the last time you routinely saw high-top fades and day-glo tank [...]

Nasty Nas returns with his new album Life Is Good . The leaked tracks show promise, but it's been a minute since Nasir released a thorough album. Let's see if this one is any different than the last few. DOWNLOAD THE LIFE IS GOOD ALBUM
At this rate, Nas will leak all of Life is Good before its July 17 release date, but we don’t care – we’re loving the classic hip hop-inflected tracks he’s been dropping. The latest leak is “Bye Baby,” in which Nas delivers impressive, emotional rhymes about his difficult decision to leave a woman he loved over a sultry, slow-burning beat from frequent partner Salaam Remi and Drake's number oe guy, 40 . Usually tracks obviously directed at a rapper’s ex (this one’s likely about [...]
Let's be honest, the only reason this song is even in rotation is because Nas is a featured lyricist. The image and sound of Island Def Jam's new signee K'LA all seem rather generic in the pop R&B world, and most certainly nothing we would have been too interested in without the name Nas attached to it. But maybe that is all we needed to fall in love with the Indiana artist, who has somehow surprised us with new single, "Blame". Now don't get it twisted, she isn't exactly a lyrical genius, but the production and cutesy hook hold things [...]

Is anyone else going nuts over how great July 17 is going to be? Not only is Frank Ocean dropping Channel Orange then, but Nas' new album, Life Is Good , will be released, too. And yeah, we all know how Nas has led us on in the past, but every leak has been nothing short of great. That trend only continues today with "Bye Baby", a soulful kiss-off anthem that apparently closes out the album. Listen over at Pitchfork .
Sometimes, the timing of things in this world can be nothing short of absolutely crazy. It was just yesterday that DJ Terry Urban dropped his Nas /Amy Winehouse blend tape, Me and Mr. Jones . And now, on this uber-America holiday, we're hearing a collaboration between the Queensbridge rapper and his late friend. It's "Cherry Wine", a silky smooth, heavily lyrical joint off Nas' upcoming Life Is Good album. It drops July 17, but you can stream "Cherry Wine" below. Life Is Good indeed. [...]
Back in 2008, Nas and Amy Winehouse got together for a few recording sessions and the fruits of their labor are slowly making their way online. Last year's ill-conceived posthumous Lioness: Hidden Treasures featured "Like Smoke," and now Nas' own, highly anticipated 10th LP, Life Is Good , brings us "Cherry Wine." Listen below: Read more articles like " New Nas & Amy Winehouse: "Cherry Wine" " on [...]
![Terry Urban Presents Nas & Amy Winehouse ‘Me & Mr. Jones’ [Mixtape]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4367590_lg.jpg)
Nas madness is in the air, and rightfully so. With his forthcoming project Life Is Good on the horizon, Terry Urban takes to some classic Nasir raps in his latest mixtape. Only this time, he chops up the workings of the late Amy Winehouse and mashes the two together. Of course, these two have been known to roll in similar camps, as well as work together , so nothing here is sounding unnatural. In fact, the cleverly titled Me & Mr. Jones turns out to be a rather refreshing free project. Give [...]
