Music is, at it's core, a uniting force. Sure, people may differ on the genre they listen to, but the love they have for that genre is universal. Which is what makes this clip from late night show Chelsea Lately so great. Filling in for host Chelsea Handler last night, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl sat down to talk with Nas about the upcoming Grammy Awards, Nas' four nominations and hip hop's presence at the ceremony. Famed music journalist and author (also one of Indiana University's finest), Anthony DeCurtis held a live interview last night with Nas. The interview was hosted in New York City at the 92 Street Y.  The two discuss Nas' most recent LP,  Life Is Good,  the way he's able to channel his feelings into his music and a lot more.  This is a great talk. He brought a live band and soul singer Anthony Hamilton with him for the sincere and intense song "World's An Addiction" and further solidified the fact that he's become one of our more dependable late-night TV performers. It would appear that the latest single of Nas'  Life is Good is the Anthony Hamilton-featured "World's an Addiction". Either that or dude's just deciding to perform this somber tune for no reason other than to, you know,  perform it . Whatever the case, Nas and Hamilton took the  Conan stage last night with a live band to run through the track, which just might leave you playing through  Life is Good once it's all over.

On Conan , Nas dipped back into Life Is Good with a special performance of "World's An Addiction" with Anthony Hamilton. One of those performances where the message and the words have such impact that you don't need some flashy stage show. Just one mic (well, two), one MC, and one stage.

Last night, Nas and Ms. Lauryn Hill's Life Is Good/Black Rage tour made it's way to the Windy for a stop at Congress Theater. I was ready to crown Nas' album, "Life is Good" as the best hip hop album of the year, until I heard Good Kid: M.A.A.D City. Safe to say Kendrick Lamar has stolen that title with his album debut. Instant Classic. Not words you hear thrown around hear a lot, but I will give praise when it is due. Check out his performance of Swimming Pools (Drank) on Conan last night. Good Kid: M.A.A.D City is in stores now.

What's most interesting, to me at least, about the " Blame " visuals is the fact that it arrives after K'La pretty much stole the show during her verse in the BET Hip-Hop Awards cyphers . So after showcasing her rapping talents, we're now seeing her in the role of songstress? OK, because "Blame" is pretty solid and Nas' verse is nice. I just...I want to hear a rap single from K'La and see it get a proper push.

Nas goes the home-movie route in his new video for "A Queens Story".  The Don pieces together footage from his native borough, concerts and appearances, and other hometown heroes for this new clip off Life Is Good .
