"This corny kid quick to send you to the coroner's." K'NAAN is one of those artists that can move between ultra mainstream appeal and gutter street shit. One minute he's philosophizing on world freedom and expression, the next he's talking about knifing you in a dark alley, or storming your borders with some pirates, all set to an upbeat rhythm and pop guitars. Here's another example of such on "Nothing To Lose", which co-stars Nas. Pretty fresh. Watch below.

Off of K'NAAN 's most recent EP, More Beautiful Than Silence , K'naan and Nas have let loose their video for "Nothing To Lose." Director Francisco Soriano takes us around K'naan's old neighborhoods, Dixon Towers and Jamestown, in Toronto, Canada's west end. Watch the two roam Canadian streets below.
New video for K'NAAN & Nas' "Nothing To Lose", off More Beautiful Than Silence EP. iTunes: More Beautiful Than Silence - EP - K'naan
I have been avoiding most of K'naan 's latest More Beautiful Than Silence EP, due to the fact that the majority of it is filled with party pop singles. But there is one song off the project that is undeniably fresh. That song, the Nas assisted "Nothing To Lose", now has a set of Toronto based visuals to accompany it. Oh, and most of the corny hooks are muted out as dialogue takes precedent every so often in the video. More Beautiful Than Silence is out now. Hit the skip to watch the video.
I am kicking myself right now, wishing I had copped a ticket to see Jay-Z perform at Carnegie Hall. Now that I have missed out on the first night, and I most certainly will not be able to cough up several hundred bucks to see him tonight, the best we can do is catch some of the footage. Here is a short clip of Hov performing " Glory ", the song he recently dedicated to his new daughter. The event was met with all sorts of special guests, including ?uestlove and Young Guru as part of the orchestra, and Alicia Keys [...]
Last night, Jay-Z played a benefit for United Way of New York City and The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation at NYC's Carnegie Hall - he plays again tonight - and though most of the public was priced out by ticket prices in the hundreds and thousands, there were still enough Elliott Wilson s and Jon Caramanicas there to give the rest of us heavy FOMO. Amongst the highlights: Jay-Z and Nas doing Illmatic 's "N.Y. State Of Mind," Jay rapping a medley of Reasonable Doubt classics from the balcony during the encore [...]

Nas puts on a dope performance with the help of The Roots , on Jimmy Fallon. Can't you see a live album from Nas? I definitely can.

Some time around their performance during Madden Bowl 2012, Nas and The Roots hopped on stage to perform "Nasty". Not only was it one of our favorite tracks of 2012 , but it also gives us some hope for Nas to return to his true mic mangling form. And you already knew this Salaam Remi production was going to sound huge with The Roots on stage. Hit the skip to watch the performance. 21223138 by YardieGoals
Last night, Jimmy Fallon's Late Night show, in Indianapolis for the Super Bowl, played host to rap legend Nas, who performed his blistering comeback single " Nasty " with the Roots backing him up. Last night on Fallon Nas hit up the stage to perform his track "Nasty" with a little help from ?uestlove and The Roots. Although the performance didn't take place in the usual studio due to Fallon basing himself in Indianapolis 'cos of some big sporting event this weekend? I kid, it's Super Bowl XLVI!!!%&$ Anyway, Nas puts in a stellar performance which can be enjoyed via The Audio Perv.

You know how fast the blog world can move. I was really into Somali-Canadian rapper/singer K'NAAN & J. Period's The Messenger series, then kind of stopped paying attention. Apparently K'NAAN did the 2010 World Cup anthem, but I can't be troubled by things like Futbol. As far as I'm concerned, K'NAAN is back with 'Nothing To Lose' alongside (my Queensbridge homey) Nas. Check out a lyric video for the track & the tracklist to K'NAAN's upcoming EP More Beautiful Than Silence below: [...]

"Yes he's a Fugee, but he go all Nas on'em." In case you were wondering where K'NAAN's been, he's been working. On January 24th, K'Naan will release a new EP by the name of More Beautiful Than Silence. He kicks it off with this new one, "Nothing To Lose", featuring Nas. The song is part bare-bones narrative before the anthem-ready chorus drops. I'm a big K'Naan fan. This interview I did with K'NAAN in '08 , was one RH's first. via Complex
