"A slow burning effort dripping with paranoia and heartbreak that combines elements of the anthemic with the subtle craft of storytelling and sees the group propel themselves past 2009’s critically acclaimed High Violet..." The National | Trouble Will Find Me Perhaps it is unfair to compare a band’s latest output solely against their back catalogue, after all, everyone evolves, but with the breakthrough Boxer and its successful follow-up High Violet expectations behind this, the New York quintet's sixth studio album, were always going to be exceptionally high. The 13 tracks [...]

The National have released a stream of new album Trouble Will Find Me on iTunes . It comes out next week via 4AD . It was probably the wrong day to release the stream but it's out there and let me tell you, it's a contender for AOTY for sure. Head here to listen to it right now.

Last week we got to see The National 's video for " Sea of Love " in which they paid homage to one of their "favorite punk rock videos". That track features on the brilliant sounding new album Trouble Will Find Me which is released next week on May 21st via 4AD. As is the norm these days you can stream it in its entirety prior to that via their band page on iTunes . With their previous effort High Violet getting so much love I'm guessing a lot of people are excited to [...]

Dark and moody sounds for the summer. The post Stream The National's Trouble Will Find Me appeared first on Treble: Music news, reviews, interviews and more .

The first we heard of the track was the group gave a barnstorming rendition of it on Fallon a few weeks ago, but now The National have given the video treatment to 'Sea of Love', from their upcoming Trouble Will Find Me album. With the quartet becoming a sextet with addition of a small boy on killer air guitar, the video sees the group playing out in a tiny room. In the best way possible, this must be one of the lowest budget music videos in quite some time. Watch it [...]

As we all know, The National are soon to release Trouble Will Find Me , their much-anticipated sixth album. Until recently all was quiet, until within the space of just a few days, a number new songs surfaced via both official releases and live radio sessions. We've already heard 'Demons', 'Heaven Faced', 'Graceless' and 'Don't Swallow The Cap' . And now come two more. Stopping in to play two new songs for Jimmy Fallon, the bespectacled Matt Berninger and co. unleashed the booming, harmonica-assisted 'Sea of Love' as well as the slower, more thoughtful [...]

Every Sunday, every week we racap the five must-hear songs from the last seven days. Last week we had Jessie Ware, Haerts, Mt Wolf, Army Navy and Little Daylights. This week, something new. Let’s do this: 1. The National - Don't Swallow The Cap "The driving drums and modestly stirring piano on ‘Don’t Swallow The Cap’ is reminiscent of 2007′s ‘Boxer’, whilst the vocals provide a profound and emotional undercurrent, this is The National fully embracing their timeless signature sound." [...]
Das wird ja immer besser, nach Demons gibt es nun einen weiteren neuen The National Song vom kommenden Album 'Trouble will find me', welches im Mai erscheint. [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

The National share second song from Trouble Will Find Me. It seems like only yesterday that The National released the first single from their forthcoming album, Trouble Will Find Me. Oh, wait! That's...

This week has been unprecedentedly massive for fans of The National. It was only three days ago that we posted about 'Demons' , the cinematic first single from the forthcoming 'Trouble Will Find Me', whilst the Ohio fivesome's session for 6Music prevented us from getting any work done on Tuesday. This evening (11/4/13) saw our favourite melancholic alt rockers drop yet another single (at this rate, we would of heard the whole album by next week). The driving drums and modestly stirring piano on 'Don't Swallow The Cap' is reminiscent of 20072s 'Boxer', whilst [...]

The National's pr push for new album Trouble Will Find Me has his full steam. Last week they played some new songs live , and then they released a new studio track, "Demons." Now today they have released yet another studio recording, "Don't Swallow The Cap." It looks as though they still have more tricks up their sleeves. "Don't Swallow The Cap" is a majestic wonder of a track that sees the National take their direction into an even further territory. Matt's vocals are a bit more..hushed alongside everything else. Bryan Devendorf's [...]
The National released their first Trouble Will Find Me single "Demons" last week, but it seems like they're excited to share the record with their fans - here's taste number two, the amusingly titled "Don't Swallow the Cap." It's a bit more of an upbeat number with a driving groove that reminds me of my favorite cuts from Boxer and Alligator , but with plenty of swirling, absorbing instrumentals (loving those pianos and strings) and lovely, heartstring-tugging vocals from Matt Berninger . Check it out - remember Trouble Will Find Me is [...]

Today's been a pretty huge day for fans of The National. Not only have the group unveiled the first snippet of their upcoming new album Trouble Will Find Me in the form of 'Demons', ( head over here ) but they also popped into Steve Lamacq's BBC 6 Music show to perform a three-track set of new songs. Performing 'Demons', 'Heaven Faced' and 'Graceless', and calling the new record a 'happy death album' the session offers a fantastic insight into Trouble Will Find Me. Interestingly, singer Matt Berninger says it is the funnest, easiest [...]
