If you ever spent time on the older Surfing on Steam platform then you know that National Skyline is one my favorite L.A. acts. While I applaud numerous bands resurrecting dream-pop and atmospheric music, particularly from the late 80s/early 90s, no one does it quite like NS. There's an obvious skill and natural flow in Jeff Garber's songwriting that allows the lyrics to take center stage without ever sacrificing the atmospheric elements. "Dream Like Me" soars in the beginning — very reminiscent to anything found on Slowdive's Souvlaki — but quickly appears out [...]
