With all of the great impressions that Jimmy Fallon does, his Neil Young one is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Not only is his version of him believable, there's just something about hearing Neil Young say "I've got passion in my pants" that makes this impression all the more funny. This time though Jimmy gets The Boss himself Bruce Springsteen to join along in singing the ridiculousness that is LMFAO's "Sexy And I Know It". Somebody really needs to take all of these hilarious performances of Jimmy's and make a DVD or mockumentary out [...]

Last night Jimmy Fallon kicked off his show with a reprisal of the internet-famous duet Neil Young and classic Springsteen, this time covering LMFAO’s “Sexy And I Know It”.

This week has been " Bruce Springsteen Week" on Jimmy Fallon . On Monday Springsteen and the E Street Band performed a new single off their forthcoming album, Wrecking Ball . In addition to promoting new material The Boss took to the stage earlier tonight to lay down a cover of LMFAO 's "Sexy And I Know It" with the man himself, Neil Young (Fallon).
On the heels of their Neil Young cover "Into The Black", revealed a few weeks ago, Portland four-piece Chromatics have unveiled the video for their new track "Lady", a smooth 80s inspired nu disco number. Directed by Alberto Rossini, the video features grainy footage and washed out images filmed live at Silver City Prom 2010, providing a glimpse into the band’s life on the road. Chromatics - Lady Adam Miller, Ruth Radelet and Johnny Jewel (the man behind Glass Candy and Desire ) [...]
Here's a story of love that hasn't been told before. In " Cadaver ," a dead man makes a last gasp at life, convincing an unsuspecting med student to take him on a road trip to tell his wife once more that he loves her. This 2D animated short features a poem filmmaker Jonah Ansell wrote for his own sister as she struggled with her early medical school jitters. If you can imagine Shel Silverstein whimsy and rhythm with an Edgar Allen Poe edge, you"ll be somewhere near the vibe of this unexpected, bittersweet tale. [...]
Here's Chromatics' new cover of Neil Young's "Into the Black"—actually, judging by the lyrics of the first verse, they are covering "My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue," the opening acoustic track on Young's 1979 album Rust Never Sleeps, and not the electric "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" that closes it. Nitpicking, I know; they are essentially the same song except for the lyrics in the opening verse. At any rate, Chromatics do a fine job, offering a silkiness that's nowhere in Young's version, emphasizing the guitar line and giving it a goth-ballad melancholy that [...]

It's been about four years since Portland's own Chromatics dropped its last album, Night Drive , back in 2007. Now, as Gorilla vs Bear reports , the Johnny Jewel-featuring Italo Disco act may return Valentine's Day with its follow up , Kill For Love , and to build on the previously released first single, "Kill For Love" , they've now issued a second: album opener "Into the Black". If that title rings a bell, it should; it's a Neil Young cover, though with a psychedelic wash that makes it rather fitting for a Dario Argento [...]

Neil Young's official website was updated on Saturday with a 37-minute video that thrilled and excited fans not for its visuals, but for the audio. It features mesmerizing jams recorded early this month by Young and his legendary Crazy Horse outfit. Entitled Horse Back, the 37-minute jam contains hints of classic tunes Cortez The Killer and Fuckin' Up. Our friends over at Thrasher's Wheat have been figuring out the answers to the many questions this video has raised. Let's hope this clip is a precursor to a long-awaited Crazy Horse tour announcement. [...]

Inspired by a random shuffle play on my iTunes, I had to go back and look at this classic video from Neil Young . It's for the title track from his 1988 album This Note's For You . I still love the reference to the Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial hair blazing reference: Neil young - This Note's For You by ivaxavi

The annual benefit for The Bridge School took place over the weekend and Neil Young was there for the 25th year to help raise funds for children with special needs. Young joined Arcade Fire during their set for a cover of his old jam "Helpless". I've never been a huge fan of Neil Young or his music, so this doesn't do too much for me unfortunately.
