Taking a page right out of the 802s revival / Drive retro book, one of the chillwave genre's flagbearers Neon Indian has teamed up with the wacky minds at Adult Swim to bring you his latest music video for swirly single, "Fallout." Cars, neon colors and big-bosomed women are at the forefront of the Knight Rider -ish animated visual accompaniment and, well, you have to witness the madness yourself to see how it all comes together.

Directed by Lilfuchs, the animated video follows a busty, pink haired woman as she drives her convertible and hypnotises gas station attendants into working on her car while the plaintive drones of Alan Palomo's voice bubble below the track's undulating rhythm.

Neon Indian has just released a video for "Fallout," one of the many stellar tracks on last year's critically acclaimed Era Extrana . The animated video, produced by Adult Swim and directed by Lilfuchs, features an 80s throwback style in the vein of cartoons such as Heavy Metal . In the feature, a pink-haired woman with sizable features seductively captures the attention of a group of auto mechanics, and then speeds off into a desert sunset. Some things never get old. It's no secret that Neon Indian love paying tribute to '80s pop, especially with Era Extraña (2011: #42) cut "Fallout". Mix a John Hughes film with Drive and this is what you get; the neon pink coloring and suave nonchalance is nostalgic enough. The busty driver of the pink convertible just missed the Drive casting call...
Neon Indian got a call from Adult Swim saying they wanted to make him a video, the result is this Lilfuchs directed homage to 80s cartoons (or more accurately an homage to animated breasts). The song is Fallout, one of my favorite from Neon Indian's excellent sophomore album Era Extraña.
