Nerves Junior released a video for "Goodnight Nobody" today. The hazy, psychedelic vidya was shot by Casey Chalmers & Amber Garvey/Kertis Creative. "Goodnight Nobody" is also a hell of a good track . Enjoy!

Louisville's Nerves Junior released one of my favorite LPs of 2011 with their debut As Bright As Your Night Light . Much has changed for the experimental, post-rock project since that record dropped. Specifically, the band parted ways with lead singer Cory Wayne and guitarist Stuart Phelps. As a result, drummer Zachary O’Renick made the move to lead vocalist, surrounding himself with producer Brennon Staples and percussionist Brey McCoy. Despite the whirlwind of changes, Nerves Junior has managed to keep its identity largely in tact on a follow-up EP that measures up to the high expectations set by [...]
"Goodnight Nobody" knows melancholy, and suffers it so that we might not have to. As Nerves Junior's Zack O'Renick has explained, it's a song about the pains of growing up, and a father explaining them to his daughter. The resulting song exudes compassion, and it's gorgeous. Check out the video for the single below. Nerves Junior made our favorite record of 2011 , and we're excited to see a revamped iteration of the band back making music in 2013. "Goodnight Nobody" is from their Craters [...]
Craters is the new three-song offering from Louisville quartet Nerves Junior. The EP is a modest follow-up to their 2011 full-length effort, As Bright As Your Night Light , which drew many comparisons to Radiohead from reviewers. From the explosive bridges, to the brooding, Yorke-esque lilt of Cory Wayne's vocals to the poise and restraint of the drums. But Nerves Junior should not be simply cast as another ripoff. The thick synths buried in "Craters" and "Intern" are more characteristic of pop-oddballs like Pinback or even the Books. The comparison to Radiohead here is an idiom used [...]

Whenever I listen to an album that I'm reviewing, I try to go into it with no context. It feels more natural to judge something based only on what I already know about the band and the release; research comes after the first listen. So, imagine my surprise when I listened to Craters , the newest release from Louisville's Nerves Junior . Something was different, while still familiar, and I couldn't tell what it was. It only after looking up what the band's been up to since their excellent debut [...]

This year will be my first at SXSW. I'm excited to see what will happen, but I'm even more excited to be a part of a great party/showcase. My buddy Zach over at the incredible We Listen For You is teaming up with sonaBLAST! to give us one hell of a free unofficial party. The show will feature an acoustic set from Rod Argent & Colin Blunstone of The Zombies, Et Tu Brucé, Dent May, Nerves Junior, Shugo Tokumaru, The Pass, Royal Bangs, Conveyor, and Miracles Of Modern Science. Hip Hatchet & Christopher Denny [...]

It's different. You might find yourself saying that when you load the latest Nerves Junior EP up on your iPhone. Opening track "Craters" packs away the oomph that marked previous efforts from the Louisville, KY band - this time the group have placed the emphasis on providing greater substance instead of style. Have you ever felt, no, dreaded something so badly that it made you sick to your stomach? You couldn't stop thinking about it. This dread may have dominated your daily life - even when you were happy, it was like a cloaked figure on the [...]
All my Louisville friends have been blowing up my facebook, RSS reader and twitter about the new Nerves Junior EP "Craters." I finally realized that it was already streaming online so I don't have to wait for the EP to make its way to Lexington in person. "Craters" is a darkly energetic record that has [...]

According to the good doctors of Nerves Junior , this EP is primarily a thirst-quencher for bigger and badder things coming in the pipeline. But it's no placeholder, Craters is a fantastic three-song document of a newly reformed band slowly sculpting their own supersonic pop. "Goodnight Nobody" is the standout for me, but all of 'em are bangers. It's out today, and you can stream it below. If you like what you hear, consider buying the high-quality MP3 download from Bandcamp and help get these guys down to SXSW! And if you're in [...]
Nerves Junior' s sleeper 2011 debut As Bright As Your Night Light melted down a hefty slice of the indie rock lexicon into a prickly, addictive new mold. But while the Louisville foursome managed to draw upon everything from Porcupine Tree to Passion Pit on its first full-length, the follow-up EP adopts a more consistently somber mood. After fracturing and losing singer Cory Wayne and guitarist Stuart Phelps, drummer Zachary O’Renick stepped up as lead vocalist, filling in the rest of the roster with producer Brennon Staples and percussionist Brey McCoy. On Craters , the newly reconfigured [...]

When you pop on a track from Louisville, KY band Nerves Junior you are assured of two things. Clever and/or ironic song titles plus excellent sounds. Seeing as I now live a fairly short ride from Louisville in the great state of Kentucky myself, I have even more hope for their forthcoming album EP titled Craters which drops on February 12th. "Goodnight Nobody" is the third track on the upcoming release and it finds the band adding to this mythical repertoire of midnight induced rhythms that seemed to permeate As Bright As Your Night Light . [...]
“People will say anything; sometimes you gotta reach deep,” begins the second verse of Nerves Junior’s new track “Goodnight Nobody.” It’s perhaps not the most original of sentiments, but considering the year that Nerves Junior has had, you can be sure that it holds a lot more meaning to them than may appear on the surface. After a year of ups and downs that involved losing most of their original lineup, including their singer, the two remaining founding members were left to slowly rebuild not only their lineup, but their sound. There must have been plenty of talk about whether [...]
