This new track from California's Geneva Miller is dreamfolk personified. Languid synths, floaty vocals and a lightly picked guitar make up the majority of The Apple Tree , a song that almost appears to consist of one long chorus, yet a sparklingly good one at that. The repetitive line " leave me be, underneath the apple tree " features numerous times throughout the track, yet is intoxicatingly addictive. Check out The Apple Tree below. For an artist I was so keen on last year, this new cut from BELL had completely slipped my radar. The new track; part pop, part Rn'B and part synth pop, manages to be down right erratic while transiently soothing. It's excitingly fragmented and seems to find interest in another idea almost as soon as it's finished with the last one. But more than anything, it's a damn good pop song; catchy as hell and a welcome return.

When I was sent this track earlier on today it inspired a simple statement, "This is the most beautiful thing I've heard all day". A quick scan of my Facebook feed and the general consensus was simple, we have a little bit of a masterpiece on our hands. Glass Drops was both a critical and commercial hit when it dropped last year. Great featuring slots, a constant killer groove and a fuck load of experimentation cemented it as a modern classic, possibly. Battles are following up the LP with a 4 part 12" series of remixes. London trio Cub Scout have sure been busy earning their badges... sorry that's awful. Anyway, their latest track Lost picks up where they left off on Seconds , with it's sparse, atmospheric vibe and haunting female vocals. There's several moments when it threatens to turn into a rip-your-ears-off Skrillex-fans-love-it wobwobwob, yet rescues itself from the point of self destruction with it's delicate rhythm and ethereal vibe. Sort of what might happen if Dido collaborated with James Blake , or something... Check out Lost below.

It's about time we heard more of Berninger's sultry tones, and this new Silver Alert remix of Grinderman's Evil just so happens to feature the vocal talents of The National frontman. Set to be included on an upcoming remix release entitled Grinderman 2 RMX , alongside efforts from Robert Fripp , Josh Homme and Cat's Eyes .
