![[MP3] Andrew Belle: "Static Waves" (feat. Katie Herzig)](http://cache.elbo.ws/posts/2140973_lg.jpg)
Andrew Belle's newest LP, The Ladder , will be (self) released February 23, 2010, and we've got a brilliant little preview track for you in "Static Waves". Perfectly suited for any primetime soap-opera (or, in today's age, any show, really), "Static Waves" mixes in Belle's baritone folk tone with Katie Herzig's delicate and airy harmony. The orchestral mix of strings, bells and keys makes "Static Waves" an immediate go-getter. Bottom line: It's a pop treaure; one that you'll soon be hearing on TV and everyone will be going, "what's that song??" But you, my friends, will know. [...]

Interpol are set to release the follow-up to 2007's ' Our Love To Admire ' early next year. Drummer Sam Fogarino recently revealed do to Paste Magazine that the band have finished recording the new album and will release it in early 2010 via Capitol Records. Speaking about the forthcoming album Fogarino revealed the band had gone back to their roots and that the new album will sound similar to their debut album, ' Turn On The Bright Lights '. I'm going to start this blog entry out by saying that (a) previous to reviewing Weezer's new album, 'Raditude', I had (b) a very minimal knowledge of the band's back catalog, and that (c) my view of the band was luke-warm at best. Keeping this in mind, I'm writing this review as a person who previously didn't like Weezer that much, listened to 'Raditude' and became a fan because of it.

A bevy of noteworthy information surfaced in the music world today regarding 2010. None long enough to really write a full post about on their own, but I know I'd regret not providing the information in case you haven't heard it. So, here goes: - Bonnaroo is slated for June 10-13 and ticket holiday pre-sales begin Friday, November 27 at 12 pm (ET). The official lineup will be announced sometime in late January / early February. - Miracle Fortress , whom I briefly discussed here , is releasing a new record in [...]

According to Paste Magazine , Interpol has recorded a new album and it's coming out shortly. I didn't so much care for their third LP, Our Love to Admire, but it had a couple of fantastic songs ("Pace is the Trick" and "There's No 'I' in Threesome"), so here's hoping it harkens back to happier times. The Betrayed , the long-awaited fourth album from Lostprophets is all set to be released on 18 January 2010 through Visible Noise and, judging by recent single 'It's Not The End of the World But I Can See It From Here' , it's going to be alright. The artwork's very nice too. Watch the video to 'It's Not The End of the World But I Can See It From Here' by Lostprophets

I have been a fan of Borcherdt for a couple of years now. His Coyotes album from last year was my top pick for the year and is still an outstanding album today – I just can't recommend it enough. So when the good folks over at NXEW posted that he released a double album of demos with Hand Drawn Dracula and a new video to boot – I admit I immediately started to sweat and [...]

This new discovery and album is one that found its way to my inbox from one of my very good German friends. I don't know why Europe has such good taste in music and people (Do the Germans know my wife is German??? Maybe...) but they seem to just be the right people to talk to when you are looking Slowcoustic. This album "Isbells" is the self titled new release from Isbells (obviously) over on Zeal Records this past October 23rd. Isbells are not German like I might have lead you to believe, but are based out of [...]
Ten Strikes - O´Spada [mp3] Share This

Ryan Thomas Becker is better known around these parts as the frontman/geetarist for Denton's RTB2. But, Ryan is releasing his latest solo album that has him keenly treading the line between sensitive singer-songwriter and full-on rock master. Don't look for any John Mayer type ballads to make the girls weep, it's not that kind of singer-songwriter album. He deftly moves around the spectrum of with a slowed down, rocked up lo-fi sound that would make Gorilla vs. Bear jizz his pants. It's kinda criminal that "Seek [...]

Whether driven by their influences or written from pure discovery (most likely a merger of the two) CASXIO sounds like a band that stepped out of the seventies and transported their sound into the present. The glowing neon keys and funky back beats on their Seventeen EP are simply seductive. Hearing this music makes you just want to shake your ass and throw up those ones (you know, that index finger gun you flash and wave when the funks got hold of you). It's actually a tease, as we only get two newies here; " Seventeen " and [...]

Man, press release authors can be really excitable sometimes. Look: Toro Y Moi (a.k.a. Columbia, South Carolina's Chaz Bundick) is the sound the world has been waiting for. This multi-cultural juggernaut gathers up the best musical elements from around the globe- R&B, Indie Rock, Electronic Dance and Psychedelica -and creates something-freaking-else! Hyphen explosion, you guys! Anyway, astute readers might notice that I just managed to cloak an artist description in a smarmy joke, and did absolutely no real work. But oh well. I'm a man on the go, you [...]

CFCF is releasing his new album, Continent , via Paper Bag Records and to commemorate the release, there's a couple of covers that he's made available to his fans. Sometimes people do covers, and they sound too much like the original. What's the point of doing that? He did a cover to Fleetwood Mac's ," Big Love", and OMC's, "How Bizzare". Shit, I feel old. I just had flashbacks of talking to Catholic schoolgirls in the eleventh-grade thinking of OMC's classic. You can score the full length, [...]

Minneapolis rockers Motion City Soundtrack have a new album called "My Dinosaur Life" coming out on January 19th, 2010 and they have announced a bunch of new headlinin' tour dates coming up in support and furtherance of said new record, which also happens to be their major label debut. They will also be making a stop here in Dallas at the Loft attached to the Palladium, awesome. Haven't ever caught these guys live before but would really like to, full list of tour dates after the jump. Motion City Soundtrack [...]
