More album news? More album news. Beloved San Francisco garage rocker Ty Segall , who seems to release an album in some various form every half year or so, announced his newest solo LP Sleeper . The Drag City release, which is set for release August 19 in the UK and August 20 in the U.S., is the first solo LP since last year's Twins release. Nearly four years after the release of Tonight , Franz Ferdinand have finally announced the proper follow-up, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action . The teaser trailer for the album, the fourth since the band's landmark self-titled debut in 2004, premiered two days ago, which shares a blip of the title track. Mikal Cronin 's new album, MCII gets me feeling all early 902s college/slacker rock nostalgic. It's much more than just a trip down nostalgia lane though. It transgresses it's influences, and has enough hooks and intrigue to grab you on the first play and keep you coming back for further listens. Here's an absolute stonker of a track from Australian psych-rockers, Pond . Giant Tortoise is definitely a step forward from last year's slacker rock-esque,  Beards, Wives, Denim album. New Tunng ? Yes, please. You know I am affectionate toward the London crew, and their new song, "The Village," does little to alter that. The song is 4 minutes 33 seconds, and I've listened to it 5 times in the last 22 minutes and 45 seconds. Math! I wrote about Fialta, the 'fun-loving California indie pop group,' back in May of 2011, and my opinion hasn't much changed. They're keeping things light and sugary on their upcoming full-length, and "Photographs," the first single, is a prime example. Even though they're in sunny Cal all year round, they know what it's like for us seasonal people. The album,  Summer Winter , set for a July 23 wide release, is perfect summer music.
