The Wack Album is out on the 11th June.
We're super excited about the new album, Saltwater coming from Austin-native Brazos later this month. Originally the recording name of Martin Crane, Brazos now features a full band and their sophomore LP (and singles held within it) have gotten a lot of praise thus far, and for good reason. The music plays like an emotional memoir, embracing lonely feelings and featuring Crane's search within himself. Saltwater is currently streaming over at SPIN and will be released May 28th via Dead Oceans. Check out the new alluring video for "Charm" below, and [...]

Another great album that dropped yesterday is The Universe Made of Darkness , the sophomore album from Russian dream wave act Tesla Boy . We covered their excellent single "Fantasy" last year here . Universe continues with Tesla's 80's new wave inspired synthpop sound with a bit of an r&b twist on a few of the tracks. Digging the record! Some of my early favorites include :: [...]

Deafheaven Sunbather Deathwish Inc 10 June 2013 by Raziq Rauf Do you ever get the feeling that you're being made fun of? That unease where some obnoxious prick knows something that you don't and you don't really know what to do because you're not sure. They're being too subtle, but you know it's not quite right – it's too unfamiliar. You don't know quite how to fight back because you know that if you say the wrong thing, they'll just laugh at you. Those obnoxious pricks are [...]

Back in his native Australia Matt Corby’s last EP, 2011′s Into The Flame , went quadruple platinum, not bad for a 23-year-old who finished second on Australian Idol in 2007. Boasting model looks, a voice that could melt butter and being backed by the ever-wonderful people at Communion we’re gonna state the obvious and say the future looks incredibly bright for Mr Corby over here on these shores. After a plethora of EPs throughout the last few years, it would appear that Corby is finally knuckling down on a proper debut album. Today he releases [...]

Marc Muldin photograph A rock sound that slam dances and guitar rocks on the fine line between psychedelia and darkness DEAD CONFEDERATE are a hard band to nail down but an easy one to to love. For the uninitiated, Dead Confederate is a five-piece rock band from Athens, GA. Each of their last two releases have been placed near the very top of our annual best albums list (for Sugar from 2011 and Wrecking Ball from 2008) and with a new effort, [...]

New Holy Ghost ? Yes please! Having been released the day Daft Punk put their new album as a free stream on iTunes means "Dumb Disco Ideas" may have gotten lost in the shuffle, but it's a pretty sweet track. Their first new single from their upcoming album Dynamics which does not have a release date yet. Not too fond of the video (find it rather boring), but hey can't win them all. They will be on tour [...]

On the heels of the cover song from yesterday, I bring you even more options to hear musicians perform other musicians intellectual property. This time it is full album cover project for The Postal Service's album ' Give Up ' for it's 10 year anniversary. A pretty influential album at the time and almost defined a new wave of 'indie' in music. Many may deny it's importance or downplay the effect this album on today's music (if asked today), but you know they still don't even fully believe themselves. There are two sides to this digital offering with [...]
