![[Throwback] Wild Nothing- Summer Holiday](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4334456_lg.jpg)
"It's 82 Degrees and my tops peeled off" - Though its from another genre and another year, Kendrick Lamar's quote encapsulates the feeling of summer. The beautiful weather in the bay this weekend was reminding me of some summer favorites so I thought I would share one that has been getting some heavy play. Wild Nothing, the one man project of Jack Tatum, released "Summer Holiday" in 2009. The track is a perfect downbeat dream pop soundscape, ideal for summer listening. Check out their live performance below!

Influenced by Atmosphere and Eyedea, Gabriel Quinn is an up and coming roots hop artist. His fresh style and captivating lyrics take listeners on a journey through narrative like songs. Songs ranging from his battle with cancer to a personal letter addressed to Barack Obama, his debut EP “How I Discovered I Am Alive” is his first project. Here is his song X's and O's with download. Ko Ko, the project of Ryan and Taylor Lawhorn has been blowing up in the blogosphere with their new single Float. After a few days of listening to it in the library it quickly meandered into my most listened to tracks. Sounding in a sense like a more mellow Miike Snow, Ko Ko is a good vibes, California based band perfect for listening to in the library or on a road trip. Listen to their song float below and check them out on sound cloud and youtube, they are certainly a band to watch.

Egyptian Hip-Hop is a group of manchester teens that have been putting out some quality indie-rock since 2008. The band has been touring around in the U.K. and is set to release a new album later this year. This track Rad Pitt is pure indie-pop bliss, full of raw vocals and teen angst. In addition, this group possibly has the best collection of indie hair cuts in the game. Hope you enjoy the track!

The Chicago based trio 'Gemini Club' put up their new single 'By Surprise' for free download a little over a week ago. I threw it on the iPod at the end of spring break and for the past week it has been one of the songs on repeat wherever I have been. The combination of the piano, synths, and guitar in this track is really smooth and complements the strong vocals of singer Tom Gavin. They have worked with Two Door Cinema Club, Hey Champ, and opened for A-Trak and Chromeo so you know they are working their way up [...]
Its always a bummer to head back to campus after spring break but here are a few tracks to help take away the pain! This is a short list of some of the stuff thats been on repeat on my iPod over the break. These tracks are so good that they made multiple voyages on public transit almost pleasant. The first track is by British indie-rockers 'Swim Deep'. Its a real addicting song, and a perfect one to cruise to on the morning drive to work. The second track is by White Arrow, an [...]

Check out Mr. Little Jeans (Norwegian Singer Monica Birkenes) , cover of Arcade Fire's 'The Suburbs'. Personally I have found it more addicting than the original. Its a great cover and a good chill out study song with some nice mellow synths complementing Birkenes beautiful voice. The video was produced by the High 5 Collective, who is notable for producing videos for Frank Ocean, Tyler the Creator, and the rest of the OFWGKTA collective.

From Rottun Records and Liquid Stranger's Mechanoid Meltdown EP, Liquid stranger now presents Ripple (VIP). From a musically trained standpoint, the beginning bars are off count, but as he uses a slow build up, he drops the chorus into a dirty bass. diffidently a filthy bass drop that can be easily remixed for any other DJ, but the song presents some nice drops from middle to end and keeps a great tempo. I would recommend checking out the artist to see [...]

These guys go to school over at the University of Arizona, and let me tell you after Jimmy Tatro suggested that I check them out I thought via youtube I wasn't ready to take it seriously. If you don't know about Jimmy Tatro here are some of his finer moments. Enough about Jimmy though... These guys have a lot of potential both together and separated. Tyler has great flow throughout the track accompanied by Jake's excellent vocals. [...]
So the last Adventure Club track hasn't left your playlist yet (or call me weird... they all do...) and they HIT YOU WITH ANOTHER ONE!? WHOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love an artist that can show grace whilst showing power. Adventure Club transforms "Youth" into dubstep black magic.

Montreal based musician and producer Miracle Fortress (Graham Van Pelt) has been making poppy electronic tunes since 2005. However, just this past year, Miracle Fortress released their long awaited sophomore album Was I The Wave? The album was created in complete isolation like Graham's first, Five Roses , and reflects that in its intricate melodies that demonstrate themes of alienation, anonymity, and the desire for the assurances of intimacy. The tracks from Five Roses have an ethereal feel tinged with a childlike sadness. Was I The Wave? as a whole, seems to have [...]

Another release from the Canadian singer. Enjoy. Download
We'll have these posts come along every so often, which include artists and songs that have been submitted to our site. The song below was submitted from artist F-A, also known as Fabian Sandoval, a Bay Area resident. Listen to the song below and check out more of his music here: famusic.bandcamp.com The next song I really liked, and kind of reminded me of an Odd Future type flow. Keep the submissions coming, Jon Flores. We see you! Check out more of his music HERE . [...]
