A skinny decaf almond milk double ris latte and a tofu burger thanks. Here's one for all the West End hipsters to ponder over... Brilliant. Grab this catchy tune here for free.

Village Green are a 5 piece rock n roll band hailing from Middlesbrough in the North East of England, their blistering live shows and memorable melodies have already seen them slot themselves firmly in as one of the best live bands of the region, writing songs that not only are catchy, but writing songs that make you feel something, that make you want to make music yourself, songs that make you want to put your arm around your best friend and have the time of your life. In the end this is a band you simply must see, and here [...]
We’re an Ottawa based quartet and we play music we like to call ‘pelvic rock’. It’s rock that makes you want to thrust your pelvis. Silvergun & Spleen is a band of 4 best friends, passionate about life, making music and having fun. That’s what this band is about. We hope to transmit that to as many people as possible. Our first LP, ‘Semi Truck’, was released in September of 2012 and we plan to tour it a whole bunch this year. We love to keep busy on Facebook and twitter and we’re always posting new [...]

My fandom for The 1975 at this point is well-documented and almost fanatical . They're one of the best indie rock bands out there right now, and they continue to deliver with quality music. Their latest offering from their upcoming IV EP , "fallingforyou," is more mellow than some of my favorites like "Sex" and "The City" (see what I did there?), but no less interesting. The song kind of floats along in the ether, giving off some spooky vibes that beckon you into the realm of sleep. Like their soon-to-be tour counterparts [...]

Now into their second decade, L.A. quartet The 88 has pretty much done it all: The foursome of Keith Slettedahl, Adam Merrin, Anthony Zimmitti and Todd O'Keefe have been next-big-things (ah, that Spaceland residency) and major-label shoulda-beens; they've released five full-lengths; they've scored movies; they've been serial contributors to films, TV shows, video games and advertisements ( the "Community" theme , for instance); and they've toured as Ray Davies' backing band — a fitting gig in the minds of many who in the early days likened their music to that of the Kinks. Like long-running guitar pop bands [...]

Wu-Tang Clan dropped a new song this morning to build up a little hype for their forthcoming A Better Tomorrow album due out in July. Not that they really need to build any hype once they attach the name Wu-Tang to it. The track "Execution In Autumn" is actually a previously unreleased recording that features about half the members of Wu including RZA , Raekwon , U-God and Inspectah Deck, but its still new WTC music nonetheless. And while its almost guaranteed that anybody who grew up listening to Wu-Tang will make comments [...]

After releasing a Daft Punk style, 15 second teaser clip, today we get the title track from The Weeknd's upcoming LP, Kiss Land . The song comes in close to eight minutes and has a feel of two separate parts that come together for one song. Nothing new is brought to the table from this latest release, same style of dark R&B, which isn't a bad thing unless you were expecting him to change it up from his previous material. After hearing this first single, I'm looking forward to Kiss Land , which is expected to drop sometime [...]

All this week Queens of the Stone Age have been sharing creepy, nightmarish visuals in support of their new album ...Like Clockwork , all of which have been animated by UK artist Boneface. Already we've seen videos for “I Appear Missing” , “Kalopsia” , “Keep Your Eyes Peeled” , and "If I Had A Tail" , and now the epic conclusion with "My God Is The Sun". And what an ending it is: as it turns out, the characters featured in the previous four videos are all from the [...]

Photo by Daniel Robson Oioi, lads n lasses, please let us introduce ourselves, we're Kobadelta... We've been gigging round Newcastle for a couple of years but it's been a decent last 6 months for us, getting a few plays on BBC Radio Newcastle, supporting up and coming psychedelic dudes Temples and generally refining our heavy blues brand of so-called "indie-psych-rock" with an added pinch of synths starting to be thrown into the mix. Check out our new single "When It Rains It Pours" for a taster... Hopefully the [...]

I’ve always wondered why so many people turn up to a gig an hour or two after the venue opens its doors; if I took this approach, I’d have never heard some of my favorite bands. For example, the first time I heard Cork-based The Altered Hours was downstairs in the Roisín Dubh, where they were playing a support slot for O Emperor. I didn’t know any of the bands playing that night, but I left feeling quite satisfied with the night’s outcome. However, had I arrived an hour or two later, just before the headlining act took to the [...]
The Toronto based indie rock band, The Beaches , kick a ton of ass. This all-female ensemble makes great music with what this humble listener calls a destined-for-greatness-swagger . These ladies should be on your radar. If you don’t know… Now you know. Dig. Absolutely Nothing - The Beaches

The Planes are an Indie Rock outfit from the south coast of England, and after successfully releasing their first professional EP, ‘On Demand’, back in January, the lads are now keen on furthering their development as a band. Comprising of identical twins, Chris and Mike Smith, along with Sam Wardle and Ollie Shaw, the band are set to follow up their EP with a string of gigs and new songs to add the their already weighty backlog of material. Since starting out in early 2011, the band have shared the stage with the likes of Dodgy, The Frank and Walters, [...]

Back in March, we had the pleasure of booking the boys of PBR Streetgang for an amazing shindig at the SoHo Beach House and we've since kept in touch. Tonight they're back in town to play at the newly re-opened Electric Pickle . Here's a little chat we had. Check out their US Tour schedule below along with their latest Autobrennt mix. The first track of yours that caught my attention was your remix of Odyssey's classic 'Inside Out,' though recently it's [...]

Usually we have our "Song of the Day", but we recently came across an EP soooo good that we had to create an "EP of the Day". Pop the champagne: Italians Do It Better have finally released the follow-up to 20072s After Dark compilation - ahem, After Dark II . The 16-track compilation features new music from Chromatics , Glass Candy , Desire , and a variety of other Johnny Jewel-related projects. "The last five years have been a blur of art & parties," Jewel explained recently. Facebook / daydreamingwinter.com I'm currently getting wet in Brighton and this is the last of my pre-writes so hopefully you have a great weekend and I'll be back with a review of The Great Escape when I'm recovered next week.. The new music discoveries never stop though and today I write about Winter , a dream pop/shoegaze band from Boston led by Samira Winter, they released their first EP "Daydreaming" last December... The four track release introduces a sound that combines a blissed-out Best Coast jangle pop sound with shimmering guitar [...]
Tweet Bands from Los Angeles have to work twice as hard to impress us. Is that a general rule of just one of team SGTMT? We imagine all musicians from LA to be part human / part rubber. They have glitter balls for eyes and bleed a mixture of champagne and mountain dew. This is all true right? Of course the city has a rich history of fine music but it's increasingly plastic persona still hinders our perceptions. Excuse our ignorance and be thankful that our vision is not so skewed to have [...]

The Vivids are from Long Beach, California their music recalls post art-punk touchtones like A Certain Ratio, The Names, Wall Of Voodoo, Gun Club or Devo and the Talking Heads at their edgiest, while flirting with psychedelic guitar leads and the occasional surf warble. This is their first UK single 'AK-472 The single will be released on June 17th via Psychic Healing Network (MYSTYRYS, Sarah Johns Music Party) and will be a double A-side also featuring a track called 'Heir To A Void' Due to problems with SoundCloud, you may not be able to play the track from this [...]
