They really do enjoy being very wrong - lacks their usual bite though... A new Die Antwoord album is expected February next year.
M.I.A. brings the noise back!! "BRING THE NOISE" is M.I.A.'s brand new single. The track is taken from her fourth long-awaited studio album 'Matangi' coming out in the autumn. As M.I.A. states "truth is a like a rotten tooth, you... READ MORE
I have been meaning to write something up about the new stuff coming from pop punk group Mayfair for quite some time now. Reminiscent of bands like Jimmy Eat World, Relient K, Foo Fighters and many others, Mayfair became a favorite of mine early last year and I barely heard from them since, Luckily they've been hard at work on a new release that should be out within the year. Their music is incredibly catchy, full of a lot of energy and definitely makes you want to rock out. Listen [...]
Skrillex and NYC clothing company Mishka have fused their creative energies to release a three piece capsule collection. The announcement was made midday Friday, when OWSLA posted a link to a cryptic, nonsensical, at times seizure inducing webpage on Skrillex's website. The frenetic, 8-bit-stylized link is supplemented by a quirky soundtrack, just as psychedelic as the medley of mind-numbing visualizers. The track, which has been essentially confirmed by Mishka as Skrillex's own, is an odd and extraneous assemblage of different tonal voices over a slow midtempo beat. Two minutes in, the track changes direction, ditching the off-kilter [...]

In anticipation of his EP release later this month, Action Bronson released a new track off the project featuring Wiz Khalifa. The Rockers is a classic Bronson track with a slow melodic flow and quality lyrics, Wiz goes hard on his verse which is always nice and the track actually has me way more excited about the new compilation. SAAAB STORIES drops on the 11th, grab it here .

One of my personal favorite artists, Poolside, has released a new track called "If We Make It". The song fits perfectly into their self-coined genre, 'daytime disco' and gives even the very best current funk/chillwave artists on the boards today. Their album, "Pacific Standard Time" was ranked as one of FPT's top albums of 2012. There is no news yet of whether this will be featured on a new release from the California duo anytime soon. So for now, enjoy the track, (it's really not that difficult to do) and you can bet FPT will let you [...]

Can we say summer is in full swing yet? This new track "Reaction" by our friend Air Zaire from NYC would suggest it is. Right in time for those summer pool parties, this new jam by him will work perfectly pool side with an ice cold drink in hand. Makes me wanna go do that right now actually. Check out the tune below which he is offering as a free download . Thank you very much sir.

It's been a whopping five years since Beck released his excellent, Modern Guilt LP. Since then he's produced stuff for, amongst others, Thurston Moore, Stephen Malkmus and Charlotte Gainsbourg , and last December released his Song Reader album-book. All good stuff, but I've been gagging for a new Beck album for ages - so the news that a new song (' Defriended [...]

Another of our long time faves Chicago's Hey Champ just released a great new track today called "Celebrate" . Slightly different from what we're used to hearing from them, but pretty amazing jam. I love when bands expand on their sound and don't just keep putting out the same track with a different name. This is a perfect example of that. Electronic pop deliciousness, right in time for the summer. Celebrate...

Our good friends French Horn Rebellion are at it again releasing another summer jam! This one's called "Dancing Out" and it features Young Empires and Jody Watley ? I don't know how they managed to pull that one off, but it works perfectly. Check out the goods below and get your summer boogie on.
We're still (just under) two weeks away from Pythons , the new Surfer Blood album, but the group has released another track from their next LP to hold us over. After seeing the group live and hearing a few new songs, I'm eagerly awaiting the Florida quartet's next effort. Check out "Gravity" below, and be on the lookout for Pythons , which is scheduled for release June 10.
Back in February, Brooklyn hip-hop duo, The Underachievers released their excellent debut mixtape, Indigoism . Three and a half months on and it's still getting plenty of plays round my gaff. So, the news that a follow up mixtape titled, CHAPTER 23 , is due next month is great news. May’s Patience is the first track to be released and it's another good 'un - check it out below (and download it [...]

This morning, deep in the "new releases" feed on Rdio , the new single from The Dodos popped up, and frankly, we couldn't be more stoked. "Confidence", which is from the forthcoming LP Carrier , sees the San Francisco duo at possibly the most polished we've ever heard them. And, frankly, that's a good thing: The amazing songwriting remains, and the cleaned up production allows for vocals that truly emphasize Meric Long's killer pipes, as well as an instrumental breakdown that shows off their instrumental chops in a serious way. We're guessing this is the beginning [...]

Smith Westerns have debuted another track from their forthcoming LP, Soft Will , due out next month on Mom + Pop. Take a listen to "3am Spiritual" below.

Don't know much about Toranto trio Villa Kang , except that they are some talented folks! Loving the track they sent our way "Touch of Evil" . Great groovy loop filled jam. Best part is they are offering the track as a free download . Can't beat that, check it out below. Video in the works.
Back at the beginning of April we briefly covered neo-psychedelic rockers Temples and their rather magnificent single Shelter Song. Martin wrote, "The songs are louder, clearer and chocked full of instantly catchy hooks; unashamedly pulling in retro influences from acid era Byrds to (dare ... Continue reading
In anticipation for their newest LP ( Trouble Will Find Me ), The National have released a new video today for "Sea of Love" and although its video is incredibly minimalistic, the song resonates as powerful and emotional, up to par with what you'd expect from the Cincinnati quintet. The multi-layering of the vocals and the emotional aspect of the lyrics provide a window to what's to come from the album, which will be released May 21. The song contains the lyrics for which the album was named, as lead singer Matt Berninger sings "If I stay [...]
