As some of you may know, I recently relocated to from Dallas to Los Angeles. Before I embarked on the 1500 mile trek I asked a few friends to make a mix. One friend in particular was Matt Foglton, a former resident of the great city. He churned out the best mix I've ever received, which he posted on hits blog Bigger Splashes -a post-Empire musical hinterland of whatever-he-wants. Brendan Benson is up to his old tricks again with "Bad For Me," the first single off his new album. As he says in the beginning of the song "well here it goes again another losing streak" - looks more heartache for Benson but at least all the pain seems to provide ample inspiration? Benson's new album What Kind of World won't be out until Aril but you can get excited and listen to some new music here .
Definitely my favorite track on the record. A$AP does it best when the beat is a fat glob of molasses. Clams Casino , of course, makes this happen. NSFW.

The Jealous Sound's new album, A Gentle Reminder comes out at the end of the month and they are appropriately dropping several singles online beforehand to get the ball rolling. Although this will be the band's first since 2003 (yikes), it sounds as though they have knocked off, what must have been a large amount of dust and picked up right where they left off.
