Yo, OSSers. How's it? I've been feeling pretty conflicted lately. On one hand, in the words of the great Jackson Browne , "All good things gotta come to an end." On the other, in the words of my constantly approximating generation, "All good things kind of like might have to come to an end, sorta." The argument with myself has been mostly going like this: Me: You should stop writing OSS. You haven't even posted for over a month. Me: Shutup. No. I [...]

I've been waiting for Relax, the third album by this Brooklyn rap trio for a minute, and Michael Jackson is it's first leak. The previous two mixtapes, ' Sit Down Man ' and ' Shut Up Dude ', established Himanshu Suri, Victor Vasquez and hypeman Dapwell as smart guys with slick beats, especially when teaming up with any number of their New York friends like El P and Lakutis. Patrick Wimberly of Chairlift produced Michael Jackson , and it's basically a banger. Explaining Das Racist is like explaining a a great meme, if you don't get it [...]

Tweet It's been ten years since The Strokes released the raw, genre-defining album "Is This It", which has since been named the Best Album of the Decade by NME, among other titles and accolades. Holy shit! Ten years? It still sounds hip today, which cannot be said for a lot of other popular releases from 2001. Stereogum brings us this compilation of covers in tribute to the album, each track covered once by an artist from a different perspective. They've released similar [...]

Yeah.......no. Still not feeling this new ish from the brothers Fab, and the video does nothing for me either. I think it's unfair for the rest of The Strokes to have to be all dolled up only for Julian to be prancing around in his after-work-jammies throwing cards around and disrespecting tables, but what do I know? You're right, I do know a lot. I'm glad that I don't know how their new album will sound because I'm hoping to hell and back that it's not like this and "You're So Right" [...]

The fuck? No seriously, the fuck? Hey, The Strokes ! What the hell is this? I'm glad this is a b-side because it's pretty piss poor, but thankfully it's only a couple of minutes long because if it lasted for anything more than that I'd picking up pieces of speakers from my floor, and floors are bad, mmk? Out tomorrow with the a-side "Under Cover Of Darkness" , it's........it's.......I don't fucking know. It was played on the radio over the weekend and again today, so you've got a radio rip to listen to until [...]

Five years in the making and the waiting (and for a lot of us the wait was agonising) we now have the first piece of new music from The Strokes' newly-announced and hopefully-awesome new album "Angles". Unfortunately, on first listen, it kinda sucks. I saw The Strokes at the Reading festival in England back in 2001 just as the hype surrounding them was reaching its height. They were everywhere, not only in the musical press but the mainstream media too; TV shows, news shows, newspapers, smoke signals, and planes trailing blown up pictures of their faces [...]

Tomado de su primer larga duración — Is this it (2001), Hard to Explain fue el sencillo con el que el 25 de junio de 2001 debutaron The Strokes , banda indie garage rock revival de Nueva York.
