MUSIC REVIEW: Kate Tucker - Ghost of Something New EP (Noise Trade) - I'm going to tell all you manly men types with your new mustaches and hippie cologne. You would not want to leave this girl for fear she'd write a killer song which on first listen would turn you into a puddle of salt. So fair warning. Lucky for you she mixes it up a bit on her most recent EP but still delivers sultry alt country angel tinged vocals that are truly aspirational. The shining light of alt-rock maybe. You can be brave [...]

White Denim - Street Joy (live) White Denim is one of my favourite guitar bands going right now. Mostly because they manage to write really interesting, unpredictable songs without sounding like they're writing interesting, unpredictable s ongs for the sake of it (i.e. they are also really enjoyable to listen to). I've yet to see them live, so for now, this free live EP that they just released from a show at The Ghost Room will have to suffice (this track comes off their most recent brilliant release, D ). [...]

" Graceland " comes to us via Oklahoma City singer/songwriter Graham Colton and his recent album Pacific Coast Eyes . While some of the songs on the collection have a sturdier foundation of earnest rock riffs, we also like " Graceland "'s more subtle, tender alt-country lines. Pick up a free album download of Pacific Coast Eyes at NoiseTrade this week only. [...]

Sara Swenson - Kansas City singer/songwriter teamed up again with producer Don Chaffer for her second full length...the song "Be Not Far" won her an opening slot on the 2010's local Lilith Fair date // Release : All Things Big and Small (Fall, 2010) // Sounds like : sweetly beguiling folk/pop with thoughtful lyrics and Swenson's airy vocals // What we like : the reverberating piano chords behind the Sarah McLachlanish "River, You and Me"...the immediate appeal of "East" -- love the line "how can I be so young and feel so [...]

Noise Trade , it is a service for artists to put out their music for their fans. In return for an email address and helps promote their music with a tweet or a facebook message prompt. You also have the option of leaving a "tip" for the artist as well. It is a little more forceful than bandcamp but doesn't quite have the large array (mostly singer/songwriters) of artists on it. However, I think this service is one that should be highlighted so I'd like to point you towards some albums that are for "free" this month but [...]
You may remember Mississippi rockers Colour Revolt from touring with big-name bands like Brand New and Manchester Orchestra. They have the ability to go toe-to-toe with bigger bands and still stand out as innovators. Their second full-length album, The Cradle, was released late in 2010 courtesy of Dualtone records, and Noisetrade.com is currently offering an [...]

Two weeks ago, Nashville, TN suffered deadly flooding and the country barely seemed to care because the media was distracted by an oil spill in the gulf and a bomb scare in Times Square. But just because nobody seemed to notice that one of this country's music capitals was destroyed (to the tune of $1.6billion in damages and 29 dead) doesn't mean we can't do something to help - do I find it odd many in this country rushed out to overwhelmingly help Haiti and not Nashville? A little, though I suppose the Haiti disaster was [...]

Listen to "Charlie Chaplin" A few months ago, I went on the W orst D ate E ver. Oh I wish this was a dating blog. It's an... interesting story. But there's a light at the end of every tunnel, and that date's light was Katie Herzig . A few nights before we went out, Mr. WDE mentioned that we should go to Katie's show at Hotel Cafe. I'd never heard of her, but why not? If I didn't like him, I could lose [...]
