Pretty excited to announce that Now, Now have signed on with Chris Walla's Walla-Trans label to release their sophomore full-length this spring. No concrete date, art, or tracklist is available yet but Threads will hopefully be out sometime next spring. Download the new single "Dead Oaks" below: MP3 // DEAD OAKS MORE // 2012 RELEASE NEWS
Here's to hoping Now, Now get this new album out ASAP because my winter won't be complete without it. Check them out playing a new song, "Separate Rooms" at a recent tour stop in New York.

Summer has come and gone and with that we enter into my absolute favorite time of the year. As the leaves change and the cool crisp air starts to dominate the day it's time to reflect on the momentous summer I had and ready for hoodie and coffee season. Hopefully this mix will help you with the transition. As always, you can grab the whole thing in a convenient .zip file or pick and choose at whatever you'd like individually. This week's releases don't nearly compete in sheer numbers to last week's, but it still is a pretty damn good week. Our favorite may just be Jason Forrest 's new album, The Everything (pictured). However, that's really just the tip of the iceberg. Sade gets a greatest hits album, The Clash , The Sex Pistols , and The Damned get a collective tribute album, and even The Blind Boys of Alabama return with a new album. It's an interesting week, with The Rentals going [...]

South by Southwest 2011, WOOO! Show me your floppies! I headed down to the massive music smorgasbord last week and hit up the Buzzgrinder showcase in what was my second trip to SXSW overall. I went two years ago to catch Frodus - and hot dog, were they fantastic. I even took pictures for you guys ! For living just three hours from Austin most of my life, I've done a pretty shit job of being a musicphile and going to one of the staples of the music industry. And now that I'm [...]

We know, we know, Buzzgrinder is old. We're talking Depends old. Being 10 in internet years is like instant incontinence in the real world, after all. But to celebrate a full decade of ruining music for everyone, we're hitting SXSW with some friends of ours. So come out to Valhalla on Thursday and drink some free Little Kings while watching badass bands. A few folks might even win a pair of Ramos shoes from Keep while they're at it! Be sure to invite all your friends . Here's all the important info: [...]

Minneapolis-based group Now, Now (formerly Now, Now Every Children) count down their favorite musical memories from the past year.

Last year we wrote about the band Now, Now Every Children, who, after releasing two well received EPs, had just released their first full length album, Cars, on Afternoon Records. The band, who now go by simply Now, Now, have since joined the No Sleep Records family, and are getting ready to release their new EP, a seven track recording featuring acoustic versions of "Giants" and "Neighbors". The Neighbors EP, which is set to be released on December 8th, is being called a rebirth of sorts for the Minneapolis, Minnesota trio. After touring the [...]

Now, Now Every Children - Neighbors [mp3] [...]

Well, here it is, now pulling into the station... the caboose at the very end of the too-long train of "best of 2009" music blogger posts, three weeks into the new one. And, as ever, it most certainly is not a "best of", but simply a "my favorites" - the albums that soundtracked my own personal year. But you knew that.I've said it before, and I'll say it one last time for emphasis: My 2009,
