In this vid, those lucky bastards over at Maestro Knows get to kick it with Warren G at his Orange County crib and listen in as he showcases some gems from his October 13 release, G-Files . Aside from your typical smooth, laid-back G-funk, the regulator also plays a few beats he's looking to shop to Hova. "I know for a fact that I could do 10x more great music than a lot of the producers - no disrespect to them - that done music music for Jay-Z." Funny [...]
Ben Gibbard paused apologetically just before his band played a mellow newer cut, "Grapevine Fires": "I just realized we didn't introduce ourselves. How rude – we just barge into your house and don't introduce ourselves. We're Death Cab for Cutie from Seattle, Washington." To those at the Fabulous Fox Theatre on Monday night, though, the vocalist/guitarist's quartet needed no introduction. Its latest album, Narrow Stairs , debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, and it's set to open some dates for Neil Young in the coming weeks. As Monday's fantastic, well-paced set proved, [...]
I'm a bit behind today because I traveled to Champaign for the Death Cab for Cutie concert there last night (more on that later this week), but I'm still stoked for tonight's show at the Fabulous Fox . That I'm excited because it's a Death Cab show is a given; that Fleet Foxes is opening positively makes me giddy. The Seattle band's harmonies seem beamed in directly from heaven -- and hearing them performed at the gorgeous Fox should be a cathartic experience. MP3: Fleet [...]

Don't forget, Death Cab is at the Fabulous Fox Theatre on Monday night with Fleet Foxes opening! Tickets are still available. Annie Zaleski: [...]
Indifference - Ben Harper & Eddie Vedder 10.13.00 Madison Square Garden, New York, NY This one from my YouTube favorites seemed appropriate on the eve of the '08 DNC. I tend to avoid party politics, but at the same time conservatives tend not to make good music. From the archives : "Ben played solo acoustic along with a host of special guests to support Presidential candidate Ralph Nader. The program included speeches from actors/activists Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon, actor/comedian Bill Murray, filmmaker Michael Moore [...]

Fleet Foxes -- who are opening for Death Cab for Cutie here at the Fabulous Fox Theatre on October 13 -- are really excited to be opening for Wilco. See below, from the band's MySpace:
