Slava P is just saying that this album has a John Mayer guest spot. Start Playstation noises. All "classic" albums begin with a short intro. Thinking About You Same vocals, third mix. Callow, endearing lyrics. But over-produced. Fertilizer Flipping through channels, a commercial for shit. Or, a love song. Or both. Sierra Leone Sleepy and soulful, an ambient [...]
Channel Orange has effectively exploded. The new album from Frank Ocean features a rampant number of guest stars, which include (as you might have expected) some from the Odd Future crew. "Golden Girl," featuring Tyler The Creator , is included as a bonus cut for the album, which is out now.

Were you one of the many people who copped Channel Orange off iTunes? Me, too. And while that's great and all-especially because the album is pretty brilliant-it appears Frank Ocean left one track off the digital release. It's "End/Golden Girl", a physical copy-only joint that features a guest appearance by his Odd Future brethren Tyler, the Creator . I'm a lil' sad that I don't have a legit version of this, but that's OK. I (and you!) can just listen to it below. [ via ]

In the course of about a week, Frank Ocean has gone from relative background member of L.A. rap collective Odd Future to the world's most famous R&B singer. And the reason? Well, in case you don't know already, we'll get to that later. First, let's start with Ocean's just-released debut album, Channel Orange, which is the real reason why his should be the first name on everyone's lips right now. The highly anticipated Channel Orange has come at a perfect time; much of mainstream R&B music feels manufactured, uninspiring, and stale. Electronic sounds are [...]

Frank Ocean. You've probably heard the name quite a bit in the past week in one way or another. And while a lil 'ol blog like Mixtape Muse writing about a buzzed about artist might seem like an attempt to ride the coattails of that buzzwave in an attempt to increase our amount of hits, it's really not. We here at Mixtape Muse have been fans of Ocean (born Christopher Breaux) since last year's debut Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape. And so, I feel I must share Frank Ocean's performance from Monday night's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." [...]
Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News Getty Images for Coachella With a title like "Bad Religion," it's no surprise Frank Ocean had a church organ commence his performance of the track on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" Monday night (July 10). Wearing his signature red-and-white bandana and a white T-shirt covered by a maroon-and-black coat, the Odd Future affiliate made his first televised [...]

Frank Ocean's second album, Channel Orange comes out next week, but the Odd Future crooner has already made it available for streaming online - as well as digital download from tonight. You can hear the full album below, including the criminally cut-short 'White' featuring John Mayer.

In February 2011, Odd Future rose to stardom on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon , delivering one of the most memorable performances in recent history. Last night, it was Frank Ocean' s turn. R&B singer and Odd Future member Frank Ocean is having a big month. Last week, admitting to having a sexual orientation other than hetero made Frank the subject of numerous articles around the blog-o-sphere, and while I'm skeptical of the placement of this announcement, it is pretty refreshing to finally have a growing acceptance of homosexuality in the hip hop community-or at least a semblance of it. Context aside, this new track to drop from Ocean's forthcoming LP, Channel Orange , is pretty savory, taking cues from both hip hop and classic R&B stars like [...]
Unless you live under a rock or were a victim of thunderstorm-inflicted power outages this week, you’ve probably heard about Odd Future affiliated R&B singer Frank Ocean’s big revelation over the Independence Day holiday. After one attentive blogger went to a listening party for Ocean's soon- to-be-released Def Jam debut Channel Orange and noted the selective use of male pronouns in a few love songs, Ocean took to his Tumblr account to release a letter originally meant to serve as the album’s “Thank You” section. In it, he detailed a friendship with another man that progressed into love and the crushing [...]

I love TV Music Moments. If Tyler & Hodgy Beats on Jimmy Fallon were Odd Future's Fear on SNL moment. Then tonight's Frank Ocean LNWJF appearance after publicly admitting to having been in love with a man is kinda like Elton John and Eminem at the Grammys. Yessir, All eyes on Frank Ocean tonight as he will be backed by the legendary Roots Crew on National TV. Check your local listenings.
