What originally started as a way for Peanut Butter Wolf to release the music of his close friend, the late Charizma, in 1996, soon turned in to a cutting edge platform for hip-hop music. Since its earliest days, Stones Throw has been responsible for some of music's most mind-bending releases, including Madvillainy , Donuts , The Unseen and more. Originally a label rooted deeply in hip-hop, Stones Throw continues to push itself outside of the genre lines with the signing of artists like the Stepkids and Koushik. To continue our tribute to some of [...]

After rocking a ton of collaborations over the past year or so, Oh No is back on his solo grind with Ohnomite . We already heard his DOOM-assisted single " 3 Dollars ", and now we get some visual aid to go along with it. Along with the old Dolemite audio, we get some vintage video cuts to feast on. Nothing too crazy, but it seems to do the trick perfectly.

As the weather gets hotter, so does the proverbial temperature of a given week's outpouring of fresh singles. With that said, now that we're not quite one month out from the summer solstice, this past sennight was of a pleasant prolificacy and quality, featuring appearances from DOOM, Rick Ross, Nicolas Jaar, Childish Gambino, YACHT, and more, plus the first posthumous number from Whitney Houston. As per always, we wish you well with the following 10-piece. -Mike Madden Staff Writer Childish Gambino Feat. Heems - "Tell Me" [...]
DOOM might’ve dropped the MF from his experimental rap moniker, but that’s all he's missing these days – based on his showing up on Oh No ’s “3 Dollars,” dude’s more than still got it. We just wish the track exceeded a minute and a half, because Doom goes hard (as usual), and so does that stuttering beat (“that’s right!”) but ninety seconds is hardly enough time to make an impression, and it seems like it’s over just when you start getting really into it. Oh No’s Ohnomite [...]

Here's an awesome new tune from Oh No 's forthcoming Ohnomite album (out 5th June). 3 Dollars features DOOM and is available on a quirky 5-inch vinyl single on 11th June on Stones Throw . Check it out below:

DOOM doesn't come out of whatever weed cloud he's in very often, and when he does it's usually for something Madlib related , which this (sort of) is. In keeping with his tradition of remixing and remaking pretty much anything he can get his hands on (see Ethiopium , Oxperiment , Exodus into Unheard Rhymes , etc.), Oh No 's next album Ohnomite [...]

DOOM previously joined forces with Madlib to form Madvillain, and now he's teamed up with Madlib's younger brother, rapper/producer Oh No , on the track "3 Dollars". The latest single off Oh No's forthcoming Ohnomite album, its mangled, repetitive horns are the perfect jumping-off point for DOOM's wacko rhymes ("Except there ain't no pork and beans up in the buffet" is pure giggly gold). Stream it below (via Complex.com ). Ohnomite , which features samples taken exclusively from the blaxploitation classic Dolemite , hits stores on June [...]

It seems that both Oh No and DOOM are breaking out of their shells a bit recently, as they join forces today to unleash the "3 Dollars" 5-inch. The single clocks in at a mere 1:28, but what did you expect from a collaboration between these two hooligans? Here's a new collaboration featuring MF DOOM and Ghostface. With a new LP coming out soon, it's almost like DOOM is coming back from the dead. The "MF" must have been holding him down. This track was produced by the brother of Madlib , Oh No , and given its colorful array of subject matters--meth, murder, money--it should be no surprise that it's soundtracking the latest addition to the Grand Theft Auto series, Chinatown Wars . Don't wait to hear the track on the game, though. Chinatown [...]
