Yamantaka // Sonic Titan – "Hoshi Neko" Per glowing recommendation (pardon the pun) of Brent Ables and the rest of the Cokemachineglow staff, I've been jamming pretty heavily to the sorta-self-titled 2011 debut from Montreal's Yamantaka // Sonic Titan . Part of a Buddhist "psych-opera collective" with a flair for theatrical live shows, KISS-style face paint, and heavy concepts, the duo deals in a strain of joyous, genre-annihilating noise that fans of Boris, Boredoms, and general transformative face-melting [...]
Goosebumps cover my body every time I hear his voice. He is the only singer who has ever made me cry when I hear him sing. Arguably one of the greatest singers the world has ever known, very few fondly remember him today outside of certain music circles. I'm talking about Mario Lanza , one of the most talented tenors to ever live. Arturo Toscanini, one of the most acclaimed conductors of all time and best known as the music director of the NBC Symphony Orchestra, dubbed Mario Lanza the "Voice of the Century" and that's no understatement. [...]
Tweet Clock Opera have been on the scene for a while and are long time favourites of SGTMT . 2012 is a big year for them as they release their debut album, it's yet to be titled but will emerge on Moshi Moshi and they already have a launch booked at the Scala (London) on the 24th April. Having trawled several times through their back catalogue, including a number of exquisite remixes, I feel confident to [...]

Still haven't managed to give Feist's latest album a listen, but it's on the to-do list so it's almost a bit cheeky checking the remixes out but oh well. Moshi Moshi act Clock Opera were assigned the task of spreading some of their own magic on track 4 from the LP and it's really strong. Feist -- How Come You Never Go There (Clock Opera Remix) Clock Opera aren't just remixers and their own music is well worth a listen. Lesson No. 7 was released on [...]

Clock Opera – Once And For All
As Guy Connelly and the rest of Clock Opera 's debut album nears (it's due in spring), an advance single, Once And For All , comes out tomorrow. It's more straightforwardly indie than some of their fare, and feels full of fondness, nostalgia and optimism; of hard-learned lessons and euphoric new beginnings. This being Clock Opera, it's backed by a superb, moving video: Click here to view the embedded video.
Music Review: Mascagni - Cavalleria Rusticana and Leoncavallo - Pagliacci
Two verismo classics from the Metropolitan Opera are under review.
Clock Opera: Once And For All
Clock Opera: Once And For All It always amazes me how some bands take almost no time to go from nobodies to somebodies in the music business whereas others gradually bide their time and patiently make the killer move when the time is right. Clock Opera definitely form part of the latter category. Having released Once And For All - their first proper piece of material - way back in 2009, they have just edited the song for its official 2012 release. Not only is the song an excellent tour-de-force in electro pop but the video [...]

Feist: How Come You Never Go There (Clock Opera Remix)
Clock Opera have remixed of Feist 's How Come You Never Go There . I rarely find myself listening to mixes of Feist as I think she is much better in original form, but this mix is helping to persuade me otherwise. This is definitely not what I expected to hear, the guys have turned it into an infectious disco-pop gem. I think you'll enjoy it! Feist: How Come You Never Go There (Clock Opera Remix) via [...]
