Break Anchor , the new project from Jay Navarro of The Suicide Machines , have premiered a new song, "A Failure of Epic Proportions." The song is set to be released on the band's debut 7", Black Hearts and Blackouts due out March 20th on Paper and Plastick .

Farewell Continental has released a new video for their song "The Greatest of All Time (How You Feelin' Now?)" The tune comes from ¡Hey, Hey Pioneers! , released last year on Paper and Plastick .

Alt Press has premiered the video for Divided Heaven 's "Born-Again Non-Believer," directed by Paris Visone. Boston's Have Nots have posted a cover of "White Man in Hammersmith Palais" by The Clash , in memory of Joe Strummer . Joe died of an undiagnosed congenital heart defect on the 22nd of December, 2002 . The cover was released on the 22nd of December, 2011 and marks nine years since Joe's death. The track is available as a 'name your price' download on their Bandcamp page .

Red City Radio announced via Twitter that they have begun writing for a new LP. Last night Garrett and I started writing what will be our next LP. We decided the results can only be described as "aggressively crisp". This will be the follow-up their 2011 release The Dangers of Standing Still .

Toronto's Junior Battles sort of just popped up out of nowhere. In less than two years time, the band has gone from being a group of guys who pronounce common words in funny ways, to being one of the most recognizable bands in the punk scene. Punknews Contributor Zac Hobbs (of Campaign ) caught up with Sam Sutherland just after the Fest 10 to test his knowledge of Canadian geography and to talk about Junior Battles, the positive aspects of Paper + Plastick, Canadian punk and the book Sutherland is writing about the subject.

The Riot Before are calling it a day, according to a blog post by frontman Brett Adams this morning. Brett writes: Though The Riot Before has been made up of thirteen different musicians over the course of its eight year existence, Cory, Freddy, and Jon were by far the most important and influential members. They performed on Rebellion and Fists Buried in Pockets, they were on stage during the vast majority of our five-hundred plus shows, and they sacrificed their time, their money, their personal lives to make this band work for as long as it did. Richmond, VA melodic-hardcore outfit Landmines has decided to call it a day. The band formed in 2005, and was the first to release a record on Paper+Plastick . Chicago-based Celtic punk band Flatfoot 56 has signed to Paper and Plastick . They plan to record their next album in January, and will once again work with Street Dogs ' Johnny Rioux, who produced their 2010 release, Black Thorn . The sessions will take place at Matt Allison's Atlas Studios in Chicago. As for what fans can expect on the new record, frontman Tobin Bawinkel explains: "The next record's sound is taking on a much more mature, heartfelt tone.
