Coachella has announced their 2013 lineup, and it's a good one. There's a lot of classic acts making the stop to Indio, California this April. Then you got Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lou Reed, New Order, Modest Mouse, The Postal Service, The xx, Sigur Ros, Jurassic 5, Grizzly Bear, Violent Femmes, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Wu-Tang Clan, Social Distotion, and Hot Chip. It doesn't stop there. You got Passion Pit, Beach House, Band Of Horses, Local Natives, [...]

After a brief interruption by Nas ' Life Is Good , Zac Brown Band 's Uncaged returns to the peak position on the Billboard Top 200 for a second week. Unfortunately for the Atlanta country act, with 48,000 copies of their latest LP sold in the previous seven-day period, this marks the lowest sales week for a #1 album in 2012 so far. Billboard notes that you have to go back to the week of February 19, [...]
There are not a lot of singles that really stand out this week as they have in previous weeks this year so far. While there is growing chatter that 2012 has been lackluster, and some even say the same goes for 2011, it's pretty difficult to match the amount of awesome release after release that [...] Read more, get songs or stream the entire mix on Indie Rock Cafe

It's finally arrived. The line up for Lollapalooza, one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S., has been revealed and it's quite good. The Chicago Sun-Times has reported that the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Black Sabbath will headline this year's festival. This will also be the only U.S. appearance for Sabbath this year. Additionally, Jack White, Justice and Avicii will also serve as headliners this year. Also appearing at Lolla will be At the Drive-In, Sigur Rós, Florence and the [...]
The day after Thanksgiving, commonly known as Black Friday, has always been a day to empty your wallets and stuff your home full of discounted items. This year, it will also be a day to give your record player some sweet, sweet tuneage. Record Store Day , typically held in April, will have a second showing on November 26th as loads of labels and bands release exclusive, limited edition music. In addition to The Black Keys’ Brothers box set we reported on earlier , check out a list of some of the standouts below. Digest your turkey [...]

How-dilly, ho-dilly, neighbors! I'm currently cooking up all kinds of excitement behind the scenes here at TBE so I'm not gonna stick around and chat. You know the deal, these are the jams that are more 'newsworthy' then 'noteworthy' so that you can stay up to speed on all the latest music hitting the web without reading as many damn blogs as I do. To cleanse the palette I've got a bundle of covers to close things out. Enjoy! For more jams or by any of these artists use the ‘tags’ links at the bottom of the post! [...]

I couldn't get a few songs by the Tallest Man on Earth out of my head in 2009 I'm not going to make a best-of 2009 list (thought I did post one other best of 2009 list ). I have about 2/3 of the year covered well but the rest of the year's releases I haven't covered as well. I still listen to music obsessively, though and so I can make this list without fear of inadequate preparation. As always with song obsessions, I don't really choose the songs, they choose me. I wish I [...]

I love going to music festivals. I also love free. Free music festivals within a 30mi radius of me = no-brainer. This was my second free festival this summer ( see Tom Williams’ Siren Festival Review ). God bless you, failing economy! The Host (C+) WFNX seemed to be a little all over the place. They didn’t get back to us in time for press pass info, so I tried to get one on my own. The poor girl at the [...]

He aqui la mismisima Lolla-Playlist: Lolla-Playlist Bon Iver - [...]

For years I've been watching Subterranean on MTV2, and before that, the original MTV alternative/indie music video show 120 Minutes . While YouTube has lessened the impact of video shows like Subterranean, I still like to tune in each week to see a handful of interesting indie videos. Much like Sirius XMU's "Download 153 playlist, I don't understand why these playlists aren't archived online, so I've taken it upon myself to do so. This week's Subterranean was hosted by The Silversun Pickups. My favorite video this week was "No One Does it Like [...]
So while watching last night's show we had a few revelations that we'd like to share with you. The Gaslight Anthem really ARE The Replacements fronted by Bruce Springsteen. Passion Pit really ARE the owners of the most creative video of 2009. Cage The Elephant really ARE Midnight Vultures-era Beck's illegitimate children. We hold these truths to be self evident and these statements are not up for debate.
