When I first read the message from Michael Angelakos on Passion Pit's Facebook  page about them canceling their current shows because he needed a mental health break, I thought: "What a crock of shit! 2012 has been a great year so far for developing acts because many of indie's major artists have been quiet. That is about to chance, with an onslaught of higher-profile people dropping albums over the next two months. Passion Pit's "Gossamer" comes next Tuesday. Passion Pit get weird for the video of new single, “I’ll Be Alright”. An art museum security guard,dozes off and has an intense hallucination about living art. He particularly develops an infatuation with a gold mouth, who is lip syncing the entire track. I was not expecting the video for a song as fun as this to be what is it, but it’s highly entertaining, nonethe less. Gossamer will be out next week on Columbia. Pre-order it here . Blasting out with the American gang's trademark hectic energy, the second single of Passion Pit 's last album Gossamer contrasts delighfully with the soporific atmosphere of a contemporary art exhibition. Charged with an underlying sensual tension from the onset, " I'll Be Alright " stumbles into the rabbit hole when a bored attendant suddenly sees a singing mouth appear from a gilded freemason-like triangle. After announcing the release of its upcoming album, Gossamer , and unveiling the new single "Take A Walk" (see below), dance-pop-rock band Passion Pit have cancelled their forthcoming tour due to the lead singer Michael Angelakos' mental health. NPR continues to dominate the exclusive album stream game, and they're hand-delivering a full listen of Passion Pit's highly anticipated sophomore album Gossamer.  Manners was my full-on soundtrack for a couple of months back in the summer of 2009 - and I have no question that this will serve the same purpose. As we already let you know about the stream of the new Passion Pit record, Aussies Gold Fields have gone ahead and have made a ridiculously good remix of Gossamer single, “Take a Walk”. While the original track had a smooth, conscientious mid tempo feel going on, the song is now raised a few levels higher. It hopefully make you smile a little bit on this Monday.

This year we're being treated to comeback albums by a slew of artists who are trying to follow-up the huge success of their debut album, perhaps none more so than Passion Pit or The xx .
