Apparently this new Passion Pit remix of "Carried Away" by Dillon Francis has been floating around his live shows, but now we have a Soundcloud version to stream and enjoy. Well, this is pretty damn random of Taylor Gang affiliated rapper Juicy J to remix Passion Pit 's "Constant Conversations," but okay I'll oblige. The original is actually one of my favorite tracks off the electro/pop bands 2012 album Gossamer , so I was and still am sort of "eh" on this remix. Earlier this year we received the self titled debut album from NZCA/LINES aka Michael Lovett. I am not sure if I am actually a fan of Passion Pit. There’s a petty bone in my soul that resents the infectious popularity of their act (part band, part one-man show). I mean, how many great electropop bands flop without breaking the mainstream, while Passion Pit is universally considered “the tits?” That said, "Sleepyhead" was an extremely catchy song that deserved its crossover appeal (I have to admit), and Michael Angelakos obviously has an ear for pop hooks.
