A partir de hoy y a lo largo de toda la semana, nuestros colaboradores Macarena Lavín y Gabriel Pinto, recomendarán algunos de los shows indispensables de la edición de este año del festival Lollapalooza. A apresentação que o Passion Pit faria na quinta-feira, 28 de março, em São Paulo, como parte dos side shows organizados pelo Lollapalooza , foi cancelada. A produção do festival confirmou a informação e nenhuma outra banda entrará no lugar do Passion Pit. O show que a banda de Michael Angelakos faz no primeiro dia do festival (29/ 03, sexta-feira) não sofre alterações, assim como a apresentação para os cariocas, no dia 30/03. O Lollapalooza fez mistério sobre o que estaria preparando para os cariocas ao divulgar imagens relacionadas ao Rio junto ao aviso de “Fiquem ligados!”. A novidade não é nenhuma edição do festival no RJ, mas sim a realização do Lolla Brasil Side Shows, que também irão rolar em São Paulo. Cada cidade receberá quatro shows de bandas do lineup do festival. Em São Paulo, Alabama Shakes , Hot Chip , Of Monsters and Men e Passion Pit se apresentam entre os dias 28 e 31 de março, no Grand Metrópole. [...]

Como ya se los habíamos platicado, los próximos 6 y 7 de abril se llevará a cabo en Chile la tercera edición local del Festival Lollapalooza , evento que ha tenido gran acogida en Latinoamérica luego de que sus organizadores decidieran extender sus actividades hacia la zona. Afortunadamente, la acción no se limitará sólo al Parque O'Higgins, pues la organización acaba de anunciar una serie de presentaciones paralelas con algunos de los artistas que formarán parte de su cartel en esta edición. Ainda faltam mais de seis meses para a segunda edição do Lollapalooza Brasil , que acontece nos dias 29, 30 e 31 de março no Jockey Clube, em São Paulo, mas as especulações sobre possíveis shows já estão aparecendo. After three days of music, madness, heat, sweat, hurricanes, hail and hot dogs without ketchup, I’m proud to say that I survived Lollapalooza 2012. This year’s Lollapalooza was truly one for the record books. There was an estimate of 100,000 people that came from all over the world to cover ...

With more than 100 bands on eight stages (well, seven if you discount the Kidz stage, which often features songs about barnyard animals), Lollapalooza is expected to be exhausting and overwhelming. The point is to see as many bands as possible, because you paid for a ticket and dammit you're going to make that 3-day wristband worth it. At least, that was my Year 1 strategy. Year 2 was a little more laid back; I even took a night off, missing a few bands I would have liked to see in the name of sleep and sunburn recovery. [...]

Wow what an interesting opening day. Fans packed in early despite the scorching hot temperatures (somewhere around a 105 degree heat index out on the Grant Park baseball diamonds), but if you were expecting weather to prevent thousands of people from enjoying this great lineup, you would be dead wrong -- more than once this weekend. Started it off right by getting in to the grounds quickly and heading straight to see Yellow Ostrich (for the second day in a row). For the eighth time in a row, Lollapalooza returned to Chicago's Grant Park. While the festival has received its share of rain over the years (e.g. Billy Idol's mesmerizing sun shower set in 2005, The Gaslight Anthem's downpour debut in 2009, Best Coast's muddy power hour in 2011, to name a few), the grounds have never had to shut down . Yet with recent catastrophes at festivals worldwide, management took no chances and they made the right choice. As usual, there are hard choices to make at Lollapalooza . And unlike smaller festivals, it's hard to run from end to end to catch multiple sets when they're playing at the same time. When I first read the message from Michael Angelakos on Passion Pit's Facebook  page about them canceling their current shows because he needed a mental health break, I thought: "What a crock of shit! Here you are in your mid 202s, on top of the world and you need a mental health break?" As the release of their new album, Gossamer, approaches, Passion Pit is heading out on tour this spring and having a festival-filled summer.

After months of purported leaks and heavily circulated rumors, the Lollapalooza lineup has finally been confirmed. Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, Black Sabbath and Jack White are set to headline the three-day event, which will take place in Chicago's Grant Park on August 3 - 5. HT faves featured on the bill include The Shins, Sigur Ros, Dawes, tUnE-yArDs, The Heart & The Heart, Alabama Shakes, Dr. Dog and The War On Drugs. Recently reunited At the Drive-In and The Afghan Whigs are also on board for the latest installment of Perry Farrell's 20-year-old festival. [...]

It's finally arrived. The line up for Lollapalooza, one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S., has been revealed and it's quite good. The Chicago Sun-Times has reported that the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Black Sabbath will headline this year's festival. This will also be the only U.S. appearance for Sabbath this year. Additionally, Jack White, Justice and Avicii will also serve as headliners this year.
