One of this summer's undeniable guilty pleasures gets a facelift from Boston's own synthesizing masters, Passion Pit. To be honest, I thought this was going to be the greatest shit ever; perhaps because I still can't turn the radio dial when "California Girls" comes on. Last time Passion Pit was the topic of discussion on Critical Acclaim, they were the ones getting their single "The Reeling" remixed by rookie Swedish pop trio Miike Snow. But now the tables have been turned, and thanks to Stereogum, we get to hear Passion Pit taking their remixing duties pretty seriously on this treatment of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' new single "Heads Will Roll". With some blaring synths and that hard hitting bass, the track comes out sounding more like a MSTRKRFT or a Crookers remix than a Passion Pit though.
