The video for "Constant Conversations", a tune off of Passion Pit 's latest  Gossamer LP, is pretty heavy. I'm struggling to piece together what's actually happening, but from what I gather it's not a comfortable situation. This remix by THE HIGHWEIGHTS takes the song down tempo at the start, that allows PASSION PIT’s  vocals to shine through. All of a sudden, keyboard and kick drums interrupt the lyrics in a furious beat that remains a recurring motif throughout the track. Synth that feels like the wind breezes and weaves through the track, changing its tune but remaining the hero of the remix. The 7-minute song comes to a head at around the 5:30 minute mark with all of the elements listed above, colliding [...]

Passion Pit are still six or seven weeks away from releasing their second album Gossamer and we've already heard the absolutely wonderful 'Take A Walk' but today they've unleashed its second single 'I'll Be Alright'. It's an aural onslaught. Chopped up and rearranged slabs of electronica pound away over four minutes, bookended by some wonderfully helter skelter sections. Passion Pit's drummer (Shuttle) has remixed Burning Hotel's single 'Always'. Shuttle's remix of 'Always' takes the track, throws it through an intergalactic blender and spits it back out as a completely different animal, bringing a much darker, dubbed-out feel to the joyous tune. It really says something when Passion Pit 's first single "Take A Walk" from their new album has been played 262,161 times on Soundcloud alone - in one week.   Think about that. Today we are graced with the beautiful sounds of a brand new Passion Pit song, and their first single off the upcoming 'Gossamar' album (TBR: July 24). This electronic/indie group has yet to put out a song that isn't amazing and since it's been a few years since their last release, there's no telling what magic they have in store.
