Noah's hair is getting bigger. His real name isn't Noah (it's Charlie) but it's still getting bigger. Maybe he's been channeling David Byrne's talent through his hair considering that "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N." (to me) sounds like a Talking Heads tune, and they both have/had wavy hair, but that might just be me. Just me? The song first showed up back at the end of November and now gets the official treatment in the visual form of a 502s style, sparsely-populated pub in southern England with a guest appearance from Lady Gaga as her career takes a nosedive [...]

It hasn't even been two weeks since I posted Noah And The Whale's first new song from their upcoming third album (and has since been played more than 47,000 times ) and there's another new tune from the London five-piece. This time around it's nowhere near as upbeat and catchy as L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N., but it's still a decent tune, drawing from some of the more chilled and spacey sounds we heard this summer; ethereal backing vocals and slight hints of soothing synths. I'm guessing it'll only be another couple of weeks until we hear another new [...]

Taken from their upcoming third album "Last Night On Earth" set to drop in March , "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N." is our first listen at what we can expect from the quintet outta London. I was big into these guys when their first album "Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down" was released back in 2007 and then kinda went off them with their second album "The First Days Of Spring" , but if I'm gonna judge their upcoming album by this new tune, I think I'm gonna like it. The song was played on Zane Lowe's BBC [...]

Photography by Me ! Yes, I may be a winter with my hair & skin, but my green eyes say I'm an autumn . You all know I love autumn , but as the skies turn grey, the wind gets a bit of bite to it, seaping into the layers, and you start to think about studded tires on bike rides . Though I do my [...]
Everyone's trying to find romance, and sometimes, when we think we've found it, our lives are shattered with the realization that we haven't. Charlie Fink, front man of the indie band Noah and the Whale, came to this realization when his longtime girlfriend and fellow musician, Laura Marling, broke up with him and quit the band [...]
Dopo il debutto del 2008 il gruppo folk rock inglese di Charlie Fink e soci sarà in Italia a marzo per quattro date ------
Love More (<3) HEALTH - HEALTH //DISCO Oh Man. there are few things in the world I love more than HEALTH, so a remix album is going to be high up on my list, but since, like I've said before, it's a remix album, it's not going to be the top of the pops. The songs are all sorts of awesome, but that's because the remixers were working with brilliant songs to begin with. That and the list of remixes chosen were done by [...]
![Noah And The Whale: Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down [Album Review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1362017_lg.jpg)
Written by Fense Seeing Noah And The Whale at SXSW this year was one of innumerable high points - it was simply one great but minor experience in a week packed with great but minor experiences of what ultimately would be one of the best, albeit exhausting, weeks of my life up to this point. Despite the greatness of their performance, they disappeared from my peripheral until this weekend when I picked up Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down . There's an undeniable force behind Noah And [...]

ALBUM: Noah and the Whale - Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down words: Cal Stannard There is a scene around at the moment - one that you're likely to have encountered. The artists involved are saviours of a dying genre; the genre being Folk. What was once a dirty word, Folk is fast becoming cool again, and it's all thanks to innovators su ch as Laura Marling, Johnny Flynn, Mumford & Sons and of course, Noah And The Whale. All have done their bit to turn a tired and [...]

Photography by etherealwinter Even super-lightweight casual fans of this site had to know this post was coming... Quirky acoustic pop, surface light, but deeper & more melancholy with more listens, songs about love & life, catchy as a mother-fucker, excellent lead vocals with a beautiful female backing vocals, spiked with organs, penny whistles, accordions, ukuleles, and especially a fidgety violin to boot, yeah, Noah & The Whale's beauty Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down has been all I cared to listen to since about 3pm on Friday. I could [...]
