The recently concluded Bacardi NH7 Weekender saw much happiness during, and a plethora of photo albums flooding everybody's Faceboo k feeds after. In fact, the festival saw such a great response that someone claimed it even "rocked Mumbai" . Amidst all of that, local graphic designer Sukrit Nagaraj, also an aspiring photographer, clicked some photos at the festival. However, whilst editing his photos he realized he wanted to do something different, considering everyone was uploading photos anyway. The Bacardi Black Rock Arena kicked off on Saturday, November 19 at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender with a classic scene lineup of rock acts from around the country. With a bar proclaiming "Pop is dead" in red neon (with the heads of pop stars, including Sonu Nigam, on a conveyor belt), the six bands performing on the stage brought some quality alternative, grunge and electro-rock to a packed "Magarrrrpatta" audience. Mumbai electro rockers Pentagram played High Spirits, Pune on Friday, November 4 as a part of the pre-parties for the Bacardi NH7 Weekender . With a setlist that was cut-short due to some 'technical snags' , the band did quite well to squeeze in ten songs. Randolph Correia is a member of two of perhaps the most inventive acts in the country today, Mumbai electro-rockers Pentagram and Shaa'ir + Func . Besides playing the guitar, Correia also DJs under the moniker FUNCinternational and brings that twist to the sounds of the bands he's a part of. Correia's guitar playing is masterful, with some ingenious riffs (ref Pentagram's Bloodywood ) and variations he brings to the table (ref Shaa'ir + Func's Mantis ). Mumbai electro-rockers Pentagram played Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai on Sunday, October 30 as a part of the Sahara Force India Speed Nights. For a crowd that was clearly more interested in the food, Pentagram played a spirited set that lasted almost an hour and a half. Frontman Vishal Dadlani expressed how the tables in front of the stage was clearly something new for a Pentagram outing. Show has been working on new material, and a new mixtape, which we have all kinds of exclusives for. In the meantime he gives us Pentagrams In Bathrooms, a pre-OMPP EP featuring Floyd A. The second Bacardi NH7 Weekender ( tickets on sale now! ) pre-party took place on Friday, October 7 at Blue Frog, Mumbai. The first leg of the pre-parties kicked off in Pune with Mumbai alt-rock act Tough On Tobacco , playing at Arc Asia (photos here ). Mumbai electro-rockers Pentagram have a video out for the song 'Lovedrug Climbdown' off their fourth studio album Bloodywood ( buy ). The animated clip was created by Sameer Kulavoor of Bombay Duck Designs (the man behind the official Bacardi NH7 Weekender poster ). It features quirky, quintessential-Mumbai imagery set to the beat of the song. Check out the video of 'Lovedrug Climbdown' below. ArtistAloud.com presents Seagram's FUEL Your Thank God It's Rock On Friday. Phew! And, all of that is the name of just one show. The Dewarists is a new, 10-part television series that premieres October 16 at 8pm on Star World. The show features collaborations between artists of different genres, shot at locations across India. Each episode will centre around the creation of an original track by the combination of musicians, and will culminate in the performance of the new composition. The series has been directed by acclaimed ad-filmmaker and Scribe frontman Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy.
