I can't say that I'm the biggest Madonna, in fact I can't say I'm a fan at all, but she has had a few decent tracks, like that one about religious virgins and the other one about the sun. Coming from what's the best song on their latest album and one of the best songs of the year so far, Young Galaxy have released a remix EP based around "We Have Everything" , their latest single from the album "Shapeshifting" . Admittedly I'm only a fairly new fan of YoungGalaxy , but my excitement for this new album equals that of die-hard fans (well maybe not quite, but MAYBE!). As I mentioned a few days ago when I posted their new song "We Have Everything" ,the story behind the recording of this album is fantabulous.Listeningto the full thing in all of its glory you can see why it took Dan Lissvik nine months to send it back to them from Sweden; it's textured beyond belief, soulful and cosmic, howling and pale, but filled to the brim with life. Now that 2010 is being neatly compartmentalized into lists (speaking of, check ours out here ), there is no harm in looking forward to 2011. And there is already hope that 2011 will be as musically fulfilling as the current year, particularly in terms of 'new' artists like Young Galaxy. Okay, Young Galaxy is not exactly 'new,' considering they have two albums under their belt, but they are new to me. The press release references The Knife and New Order, yet, the silky smooth licks of opening single "Peripheral Visionaries" seem at odds with those qualifiers. We're completely fine with that.
