It's that time of the month again! My rockin' trio Dfactor gets out to Hollywood Alley in Mesa, AZ for another rock and roll show! This one's got the goods all lined up. Four fine bands, including the 2nd or 3rd public outing by The Persuaders , who play right after Dfactor, and Honey Pistol and Haymarket Squares . We have three new original as-yet-unrecorded Dfactor corkers we're spitting out ( Walking Out on Love, Useless Knowledge and Sucking my Soul ), along with crowd faves from our [...]

I'm not a one girls guy, and they know it. When it comes to love I don't lie, and the girls respect me for it. Ain't gonna say my nose can't be over but right now there's just too many fine ladies out there to choose one from..." The Persuaders - Trying Girls Out

Was archive digging last sunday and it's a shame that house tracks live only as tracks for a short period of time, and never acquire song status. There are some really good stuff that shouldn't go to house hell so easily. That Persuader track from Svek for example or Chicago Music Syndrome's classic Work It. Might be digging more in the future. Persuader - Bottle Up Chicago Music Syndrome - Work It Drei Farben House - Blending Days Samim - [...]

How fabulous is this bag? It's copper and it looks like a machine gun. The grip is a mobile phone holder. Everything is great about this, just don't try going to an airport carrying it. Posted in Fash Tagged: bag, copper, gun, machine, persuader

Shoegaze, or as it's also known, dreampop, is one of those genres that when done not so well, is pretty tedious and self-indulgent, but when done really well, can sound more like star gazing than shoegazing. Having said this, I will now introduce two bands who are doing more of the latter than the former: Finnish band Pooma and their debut album, Persuader , and Florida band Kingsbury and their new EP, Lie to Me . While both pieces are captivating, they come at the shoegaze genre from different ends of the spectrum and at different angles of [...]

The Persuader - Slussen (Erot Remix) Well, I hope none of us made New Year's resolutions to most with more regular frequency! Mine was a bit more low key than I had expected - I didn't get to go to the party I had my heart set one, but still had fun nevertheless. Anyway Erot was a Norweigian producer (and one time partner of Annie ) who died tragically young, but left a legacy of disco-dubby-Scando goodness that as I understand it, played a big [...]

The Persuaders: Love Gonna Pack Up From Thin Line Between Love and Hate (Win and Lose, 1971) Sly, Slick and Wicked: Love Gonna Pack Up From 7" (Bad Boys, 197?) It's not often that I consider a cover version to be superior than the original song. I love covers for the twist they put on the familiar but different doesn't equate to "better" most of the time. I'd make an exception here. "Love Gonna Pack Up (And [...]
