Justin Vernon stopped by the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon set to perform ?uestlove's "fav Bon Iver jawn" for the show's studio audience. As expected, The Roots deliver a very, very, smooth rendition of the opening song from Bon Iver, Bon Iver, working in some mesmerizing jams in the almost 4 minutes added on to the original track. I think they should take it to the studio and record an official version of this, anyone else? via

Coisa linda:
Justin Vernon of Bon Iver swung by Jimmy Fallon's studio last week and gathered The Roots to put on a little live performance of "Perth", and it's pretty awesome. Questlove on the drums adds an entirely different element - I could go for a little Bon Iver/The Roots collabo album. Anyone? Tweet
Pond are a three piece straight outta Perth. You may well have heard the name before, and perhaps the sound. That's probs coz two thirds of Pond are Nick and Jay from mega superstars Tame Impala. It's big fuzzed out riff heavy rock'n'roll. I'm not a massive fan of Tame Impala...but I'm liking Pond. You can [...]

Umpire's wonderful new single 'Supply Chins', off their frighteningly awesome 2011 debut album Now We're Active , had a sweet little write up over at the fantastic Australian zine Mess + Noise . Check out the post here and download the track for free here .

NO.2 BON IVER - BON IVER BUY | LOOK | METACRITIC Such was the precision and individuality of Bon Iver's debut record, For Emma, Forever Ago , in the lead up to the release of its follow-up there were one or two niggling questions about just how he would, or even could, follow it. From the moment you hear Calgary , the track put up for download ahead of it's release, you know you needn't have worried. Both on this in particular track and [...]

Hidden Shoal Recordings is excited to announce the release of ' Supply Chins ', the second single from Perth's widescreen indie-rock craftsmen Umpire , taken from their brilliant 2011 debut album Now We're Active . On an album crammed to breaking point with hooks, 'Supply Chins' has perhaps the catchiest hooks of all. Alternating between a massive fist-pumping chorus and reflective verses, the song builds towards a breathtaking climax punctuated by sumptuous horns, weaving vocals and driving guitars. This is indie-rock at its most unashamedly anthemic. Umpire combine sprawling indie-rock sounds [...]

Bon Iver - Perth (The Polish Ambassador Remix) Has The Polish Ambassador been posted on MJF yet? No? Alright, here we go. Don't you hate when you stumble upon good artists late in their game that it makes you go to their SoundCloud and hit every single 'down arrow' button you can find so you can catch up and tell everyone that you heard them first? That's the case with me and TPA, I guess. Luckily for me, I will be catching him opening up for Big G on NYE in Chi-Town [...]

This is absolutely beautiful. I don't throw that word around a lot when referring to music, but in this case, I'll make an exception. Electric lullaby indeed. Follow me @OceanPdestrians .

Pond , like some of their Tame Impala band members,(Nick Allbrook and Jay Watson), reign from Perth in Western Australia. And it comes as no surprise that they channel a similar psychedelic rock vibe. Check out "Fantastic Explosion of Time" below, we like it A L O T! Can't wait to hear more from their upcoming album, Beard Wives Denim is out 3/6 on Modular .
You can now stream all of the gorgeous videos from the deluxe edition of Bon Iver that came out yesterday.

I have little doubt that Bon Iver's self-titled 2011 album will rank as one of the best this year (certainly as far as folk/indie rock is concerned). But I haven't heard too many remixes come out of it. Perhaps that's because folk is a much more difficult genre to flip on its head with drumbeats and [...]

Cigarettes and Science Some of you may remember Sarah's post on Perth band POND back in March - others may remember witnessing POND play one of the most rousing sets at Campus A Low Hum 2011 . Nick Allbrook is POND's lead vocalist and he also plays bass in Tame Impala. Along with his friend Cameron Avery he also forms half of Allbrook/Avery, creating garage rock with a hint of '60s psychedelia. The duo started writing music together in early 2011 when [...]

Australia has long been my favorite exporter of indie bands with an electronic twist. There surely has to be something in the water to produce so many awesome bands. Well, besides all the world's most poisonous creatures, I mean. The latest band I can't get enough of is called Scenic . These guys hail from Perth and just released their EP 'Another Sky' on Future Classic . I highly recommend getting your hands on that ASAP, but I actually want to give you guys this amazing Air cover that they recorded for an upcoming 73 release. [...]
Sad news, Melbourne-based Umpire fans: the band have had to cancel their show at Phoenix Public House on 11/11/11. Fingers crossed for next year!

Everyone's favourite widescreen indie-rockers Umpire are over in Melbourne early next month to launch their stunning debut album Now We're Active on the east coast. The band hit Phoenix Public House in Brunswick on Friday 11 November. Yes, that's 11/11/11. And yes, the band will be on stage, doing their thing, at 11.11pm. Something magical is bound to happen, like The Boredoms rising from the bowels of the earth while playing 11 drumkits. But even if they don't, it's going to be a darned good night.

A brother/sister value pack, producing lush, coldwave pop from sunny-side city of Perth in Western Australia. Do you thin they pash each other? Their profile shot is all sorts of sexy... in a Fever Ray kinda way. The Wolves In The Walls by voltairetwins This is the current single - total blinder Animalia (Radio Edit) by voltairetwins [...]
