Watch Twin Shadow play a cover of Peter Gabriel 's "Here Comes The Flood" . Like Lana Del Rey did a few months ago, it's now time for Twin Shadow to play poolside at the legendary Chateau Marmont for Mulberry . George Lewis Jr. 's song choice was a cover of "Here Comes The Flood" a Peter Gabriel song that sees him stripping down his usual sound to just stand [...]

[Photo by Ken Grand-Pierre. See his Flickr stream here ] Food Will Win the War may have been opening for the Lemonheads on this night, but they put a headliner-level of intensity into their set of acoustic folk-rock, and were rewarded with a mostly full house to do it. They are one of those big, "musical" bands that puts thought as well as energy into their performances, using their fairly large (six) number of players and diverse instrumentation to produce finely-honed, thoughtful arrangements. Yes, as rock music goes, they are about [...]

Local outfit Their Ocean recently worked on a cover of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" for SYFFAL.com's Pop Cultures Collide project, in which they get some of their favorite bands to create covers for nostalgic, classic, simply damn good songs. Their Ocean sticks in their post-folk (whoa) lane, thoroughly instituting their sound into this cover. Don't Miss their latest project from Nov. 2011 the Sunstroke EP Their Ocean-In Your Eyes by SYFFAL

This man and his band have a way about them. The way Bon Iver decides to recreate the Peter Gabriel classic, "Come Talk To Me" is an especially good example. Layers of echoey vocals and even more layers of horns, guitars, maybe even ukulele(?) populate most of the song, but near the end there is a little build up with an added drum, some jumbled instruments creating a generally aesthetically sound. Regardless of the fact that it comes from the For Emma, Forever Ago era of Bon Iver, it's great tune for being out west [...]
