I'm not sure when this was announced, but I just found out that two metal legends are once again headlining the Rockstar Energy Drink's Mayhem Tour this summer. Last time I went, it was Korn, Rob Zombie, and Lamb Of God. This year it's Slipknot and Slayer that have the double headlining gig. Mayhem will come to Camden's Susquehanna Bank Center on July 27th and also features Anthrax, As I Lay Dying, Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, White Chapel, and High On Fire. Should be a brutal evening. Tickets go on sale April 6th.

I'm a big fan of this Cincinnati duo and their reel-to-reel tape player. Bad Veins are releasing The Mess We've Made on April 24th, their follow up to their frequently slept-on self-titled debut. The lead single is "Dancing On TV" and they premiered the accompanying visuals today. Hopefully an MP3 of this will get posted today also, because I don't really care for the video. For their 5th Birthday, they have three headliners with Incubus , Cake , and Angels & Airwaves . The show will take place on Sunday, May 13th at the Festival Pier at Penn's Landing . It'll be a nice way to kick off the summer a little earlier than usual. They did hint that other bands would be added to the festivities, but likely lesser known acts [...]
What a great follow-up to "Full Spectrum" . The Zilla / Has / Quandary trifecta adds a fourth, Open Mike Eagle , and they coast over this track like Ric Flair and the Horsemen. Only from the 1920s, noir wrestling. Which kind of makes sense. Some of the best wrestling is about the storylines that get intertwined. Plus there's a John Tenta reference in here. Unless I'm lost. Two of the legends in Philly hip hop spit a few bars for The Wire 6 DVD that was recently released. Gillie Da Kid is poppin' up here and there on these hood DVD's and random tracks with other Philly heads. Freeway has earned respect of the entire game, so we've been seeing him on tracks with just about anyone. The freestyle is brief, but likely is really coming off the dome for once.
The bearded and flanneled came out in packs last night to the Irvine Auditorium at the University of Penn. Jeff Mangum performed plenty of the classic Neutral Milk Hotel material that most of never thought we'd experience live. The set included all of the gems off In The Aeroplane Over The Sea and some tracks from NMH's other releases.
