![[Playlist] A Meaty Vacationing Mixture](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4052057_lg.jpg)
Hello friends and others. I am off on a mini-vacation tomorrow (see above picture). When we get back from Mexico the plan is to finish packing up our house and move to Vancouver...finally. Life will be pretty wild over the next few weeks so I highly doubt that there will be much new music posted up here. As a present, here is a playlist that I will be listening to while sitting by the pool, eating tacos, drinking chi-chi's and playing some serious Scrabble. Till then... 1. Dirty Gold - California Sunrise [...]

Rob Crow has a new video for his single "So Way" off his new solo album, He Thinks He's People , out now on Temporary Residence Ltd. Fans of playing dress up with wigs and beards should be most interested. Check it out after the jump. Read more »

Pinback's second installment (Pt. B) of the 'Information Retrieved' trilogy, 'True North,' was released on Record Store Day as a limited run. The 'True North' 73 (b-side "CLOAD Q") is available via Temporary Residence...although, I was unable to find it in their inventory. Take A Listen: True North from Pinback
Click image to download full album Song: Pinback - True North "Pinback - True North" What's so good? Black Friday / Record Store Day (same thing) is notably awesome for the singles that many bands release in celebration (or with hope of making some sales). To the pleasure of my ears, Pinback was one such band, releasing a special 73 titled Information Retrieved A , which is supposed to last us until their full album is released in early [...]
Record Store Day 's very special holiday schedule isn't the only way Black Friday got spiced up this year. (Pardon the horrid joke construct, internalize the fact that we live in an insane country that's spiraled into a hopeless consumerist hellhole in which spurting pepper spray is the de facto means of communicating with large groups of people. We major!) Nay, for the second straight year, RSD got in on the action with a slate of exclusive rarities, including a 1700 copy limited run of Pinback's second installment in the Information Retrieved 73 trilogy, out via Secretly Canadian, [...]

So if you come by here often enough, you probably think that because I constantly give high scores to everything that everything I come across blows my mind. Yes, I'm just that fucking shallow. Actually, I typically pass over dozens of records that either don't impress me enough or flat-out disgust me. Well today, I've decided to talk about those forgettable pieces of crap for my own personal enjoyment. You'll have to forgive me if they're shorter and snarkier than usual. You may also notice that I've changed the color of my scores from red [...]

Here is a little playlist of what I am listening to right now. I know it is all over the map but try and give them all a chance. Again, sorry for the slacking but at least I haven't given up completely. 1. Sonny & The Sunsets - Teenge Thugs 2. Yellow Ostrich - Til' I Disappear 3. Cotton Jones - Gone The Bells (Daytrotter Session) [...]
Rob Crow's sixth solo album invites you to meet one of Pinback's founding fathers.
Words by Rick Moslen So this is the series where I ramble on about classic indie/punk record labels fated to feed every music junkie's obsessive fix. This time I'm gushing about possibly the mother of them all. Hold onto your butts and stuff some earplugs up those earlobes, cause it's time for some raw, spazzing rock n'roll from Touch and Go Records. I know what you're thinking ... how can I rope Touch and Go 's extensive yet essential history into a mere blog post? That's like leaving your [...]

Rob Crow He Thinks He's People Temporary Residence Limited [2011] Fire Note Says: Pinback frontman Rob Crow makes another infectious solo record that is one of his most focused to date. Album Review: If you have ever listened to Pinback, then you already know that lead singer Rob Crow has a very unique and smooth delivery. On his fourth solo record, He Thinks He's People , Crow shines [...]
One day a year just isn't enough for the people behind Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent vinyl retailers. So for the second year running, the Record Store Day people have organized another day where all sorts of exclusives will be available at indie record stores, and it'll once again go down on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. This year, that's 11/25. Below, we've got a list of some of the more interesting Black Friday exclusives. Read More...
Not Seth Putnam One mind-blowing aspect of Devin Townsend's Deconstruction album is its coterie of guest personnel. A who's-who of pivotal screamers, the list includes that awesome dude from Gojira, legendary super-stud Ihsahn, and extreme metal's loveliest alto, Tommy Rogers from Between The Buried And Me. And though Townsend rightly rushes to downplay the distraction/sketchy [...]

Pinback at MHoW ( more by Tim Griffin ) Filmmaker John David Schardt writes: It's been a long time coming. Pinback deserves a documentary about them. They've been carving their way through the indie rock scene over the last decade. This ultimately private, unconventional, yet fan friendly band has definitely made their mark on the music industry and more importantly their fans. I have been granted access to join [ Pinback ] and step behind the scenes where [...]

I've long been a fan of post-emo band Pinback , and the subdued yet powerful vocals of leading man Rob Crow . Fans like me can find a new tune below called "Sophistructure" from Mr. Crow recorded outside of his membership in Pinback. The song is just a taste of a new solo album entitled He Thinks He's People due out October 18th on Temporary Residence . As is the case with most front men, the song comes across as one taken from his long time band's catalog (which I'm in support of BTW). We're [...]
Californian indie rock band Pinback are set to tour Australia come August this year. They haven't released any new material since 2007 and are going to be here to promote their, 'Information Received' LP which is due next year. Have a listen to the soundcloud below and let us know what you think. They remind me somewhat of Death Cab for Cutie. Pinback - 'Information Retrieved Pt. A' 73 by inertiamusic If you are keen to see them, their touring dates are as [...]

Click image to download full album Song: Beach Fossils - Adversity "Beach Fossils - Adversity" What's so good? Somewhat of an atypical sound on today's Song of the Day. Beach Fossils caught my attention when Devin first wrote a review of their EP back in February. The song she featured, "Face It," had a dreamy, twangy sound, and I must say that I quite enjoyed it. As such, I wasn't at all surprised that upon listening to the [...]
