LA-based electro pop artist, Kauf has been on my radar since his first single 'Relocate' was released late last Winter. Though he has been pretty quietly working on a full-length album since the April release of his second single 'When You're Out,' Kauf just reappeared with a stellar remix of Brooklyn dream pop trio Tony Castles' 'Heart In The Pipes.' Olivia Tremor Control's keyboardist, Peter Erchick, has been around for a while, having put out his first solo record (Individualized Shirts) under the name Pipes You See, Pipes You Don't all the way back in 2001. Previous tracks, from Tony Castles' five-song No Source EP, have leavened the Brooklyn band's natural, lazing sweetness with fuzz and whimsy , or barking guitars . But this new one dispenses with all that scruff to deliver a dewy-eyed core. This is a good thing, because Tony Castles do dewy well.
