IMOGEN ARCHER has just joined the PURPLE SNEAKERS online team having recently made the move over to Melbourne from her native home of Adelaide. Having served diligently as a fantastic weekly track spinner at her local haunt ROCKET BAR , IMOGEN knows a thing or two about music. We're psyched to have her as the newest member of our crew and decided we just had to grab her TOP FIVE everythings! TOP FIVE ALBUMS Afraid of heights - [...]

What happens when you mix in a little Major Lazer and Laidback Luke? Pon De Floor! presented in a pretty sweet remix to get ya bumping for the night. Classic beat heard in plenty of other songs like that in Beyonce's awesome hit, Run The World (Girls). Check this out. Pon De Floor (Laidback Luke Remix) Subscribe to the comments for this post?
![[Introducing] – Crystal Vision](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3237319_lg.jpg)
Good ol' fashioned dirty, filthy, bass-laced, house music. That's the name of the game with Crystal Vision. Crystal Vision is duo Katie Wicks and Bryan Peace straight outta Oklahoma City. Crystal Vision's recently climbing the Beatport Electro House Charts with their singles and I can now see, well deserved. There's something to be said when we can just call them "Electro House"; that's just what it is... the simplicity makes it good. Listening to their music makes me want to dance with a stranger in a warehouse (take that as you will, but that's supposed to be positive). [...]

if you don't know who french fries is by now get out of town, seriously. french fries is signed to the young gunz label based out of france and as you may have guessed french fries is another of those super young kids ripping all over the world house genre, he had his first release at 16 and was also playing in the clubs from a tender age. Mr Fries is in the country for a couple of gigs in melbourne and sydney, in sydney he'll be playing an intimate gig @ club 77 [...]

QuickPicks are my attempt at getting all of the music that's sent to me that I like, out into the wide web world (or dubya dots). Any time I get sent music that I like I "star" it in Gmail and then go back and listen to it a day later. If it's still as good as it was a day before then it goes up on the site, but sometimes I get backlogged and can't get through writing up pieces for each artist and stay on top of the game, so hopefully this will alleviate some of [...]

I can honestly say I feel foolish for getting to these two songs so late. I've loved everything I've heard from these dudes; The La Roux mixtape , 30 Minutes of Fun, etc. For some reason, I never listened to these two songs on their own as they deserve to be. These are just two songs that come along in life that you can't NOT enjoy. Trust me. mp3: Major Lazer - Pon De Floor mp3: Major Lazer - Keep It Goin ' Loud

After years of drumming throughout the Sydney indie rock scene, Elmo is Dead was ready to join a new posse and so became the newest member of the Ram Jam production/dj crew, complete with internationally recognised Cassian (or CSK OK) and Hey Now . Instantly noticed he managed to pick up a swagger of accolades including recognition by predominant sydney magazines and more significantly a remix of “Pon de Floor” released on Vinyl along side Laidback Luke and Major Lazer . Yolanda Be Cool & DCup [...]

Wow. Just wow. I'm not sure The Vogue was ready to host such a night on April the 8th, when Major Lazer and Bassnectar came to town and made their mark on the place. It has literally taken me this long (since the 8th) to digest the whole thing. Wow. I mean it. Wow. MAJOR LAZER After a solid set by DJ Vadim , Diplo and the crew from Major Lazer took the stage with [...]

Chewy Chocolate Cookies first graced my ears at Pukkelpop, a Belgium music festival, which literally blew my mind and re wrote what I defined as "good" music. Their sometimes scary electronic synth can have an ear shattering experience upon the listen. My epiphany came from their remix of "Fer De Lance by Rochelle" where I nealy passed out with euphoria. This tune does remind me of Mephisto's "Beat of the Bee" ... perhaps an influence on the legendary Chewy Chocolate Cookies. Rochelle - Fer De Lance (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix) Next to [...]
Last year we had some great run ins with Major Lazer from first hearing Pon de Floor at WMC in Miami , t0 their CD release party at Bar Marmont on Sunset, to kicking it pool side at the Dim Mak Pool Party on what we dubbed Major Lazer Day (it was followed by their performance at EDC!) Check out the video below from Major Lazer Day Apparently this Tour is going to include the release of a new EP from Mad Decent that [...]

Maybe it's just the lingering winter influencing our recent taste for slow tempoed tunes, but fear not, we haven't forgotten how to party in the club to a hard beat. Brooklyn's Cobra Krames was one of the earliest supporters of this site so of course I jumped at the chance to host the official first posting of his new remix of Ludacris ' How Low . I've yet to find anything Ludacris has ever done boring and with How Low he lives up to the very definition of his name, turning everyone's [...]

Two days ago Busy Signal leaked his new song with Machel "King of Trinidad" Montano on his twitter . Riddim courtesy of Juke Boxx productions in Kingston. Perfect joint to get your carnaval party started and more heat on Busy's twitter! Busy Signal & Machel Montano - Whoii Gal Whoii Download Including that not so good joint using the Major Lazer's Pon De Floor riff called Little Piece. Busy Signal - Little Piece [...]

To follow up Billionaire's massive bass assessment for '09 here are 10 pieces of pie that got my gullet greased this past year. In no particular order... Renaissance Man Spraycan was without a doubt one of the most innovative house tracks to hit wax this year, but what was most impressive about Renaissance Man was their ability to follow up its enormous success with such consistent creativity. With glowing bass lines chunkier than your grandma's beef barley, it's no surprise their cuts were so often sought after pre-release. I also [...]

Here are my favourite songs of 2009. I seriously could have went into the hundreds on this one but I seriously cannot be holed. Besides this top 20 took me fecking ages. Enjoy! 20. Major Lazer - Pon De Floor To me this song sounds like it should be released in 2015, it's THAT ahead of its time. As it is, it ended up sending dancefloors into chaotic frenzies whenever it was played in 2009. Listen: [...]
Hailing from the land of Attila the Hun, Budapest-based electro production dynamos Stereo Killaz and Tits & Clits bring the thunder. And like their country's most famous ancestor, their beats will hammer you with an iron fist. Gabor Jonas, Mr. Stereo Killa himself, was kind enough to serve up Bangerz Only with the privilege of [...]

Hiatus ends with a banger avec twist. Real smooth electro with some space invader-esk synth lines from Vitalic . The lyrics are crazy but if you are having that sort of night this would be very fun to listen to! Vitalic - Chicken Lady (Original Mix) ysi After listening to a triple J Diplo artist profile, I decided to dig into one last Major Lazer Remix sent in by up and coming Sydney Producer Elmo is Dead and one of the faces of Hey Now [...]
