One of the biggest show-stealers at NXNE last month was  Porcelain Raft , the arty electro-pop project of Mauro Remiddi that had somehow slipped under my radar for so long, and then registered on it long enough to knock my socks clean off. In the time since, Remiddi has placed himself both in front of and behind the camera to craft a video for Strange Weekend closer "The Way In," projecting layers of flickering film strips that draw mesmerizing patterns of light over himself. Porcelain Raft offer up another homemade style video for the track "The Way In" and it's in the same vein as his past offerings. Grainy and slightly out of focus in places but a nice early morning watch. The track feature on Strange Weekend , which is out now via Secretly Canadian.

Porcelain Raft offers up his official video for the track "Drifting In and Out" and the video is a nice simplistic accompaniment for the video. Using a smoke machine and some nice lighting Mauro Remiddi manages to create some lovely effects. Check it out for yourselves up at the top via NPR First Watch . His debut album, Strange Weekend , is available everywhere now.

“Drifting In and Out” is arguably the best song on Porcelain Raft’ s winter release Strange Weekend, so we’re psyched that it’s the record’s next single. We just wish the track had a video of the caliber that it deserves – the track’s hazy beauty doesn’t need to equal lots of background fog machine, just like the presumed authenticity that comes with a DIY look doesn’t necessitate juxtaposing every visual material you make over old VHS footage. GFP were lucky enough to catch Brooklyn-based  Porcelain Raft live earlier in the year, when he supported M83  just prior to the release of his debut album Strange Weekend . Porcelain Raft , aka Mauro Remiddi, makes excellent use of very minimal props in his new video for his Strange Weekend album opener "Drifting In and Out."
