My first real confrontation with Porcelain Raft was in St. Pancreas church back in March of this year. The set, for want of a better phrase, was ‘fucking fantasic’, with Mauro Remiddi leaving the crowds’ jaws literally hanging in the now legendary London space. Since then, he’s been picked up by Secretly Canadian , has an album due out early next year and most importantly, he’s still making damagingly emotionally music. Secretly Canadian's newest signing Porcelain Raft has today released his first video, which accompanies the song "Put Me To Sleep." The video depicts Mauro Remiddi lying in a bath of milk, looking like he's trying to sleep. The album is a very sleep-centric affair, and perhaps this is one of the activities that make up the Strange Weekend that titles his album. Watch for yourself below and see if you can figure it out. Inspired by a friend of his who once said “imagine if instead of water it would rain milk”, Porcelain Raft self-directed the video for Put Me To Sleep . It’s about “texture, the way milk would spread through the tiny paths of the pavement, touching the trees first, than our heads, than the ground.”
