Independent Bands and Artists, Once again The Deli gives you the opportunity to be selected to play NYC's Rooftop Films ' Summer Series 2013, which will run every weekend from May 10 until August, with special events in September. The event couples films with live music on top of spectacular NYC roofs, and connects artists with audiences so that each event is unique and memorable. Providence’s best band ever  Magic Man ,  follow up their triumphant “Paris”, with another geographic-based name in new song “Texas”. That fuzzy opening that states “you are about to embark on the most wonderful experience of your life” fully symbolizes the unbelievable sound that this band puts out. Their expert electronic indie-pop sensibilities are getting to be unmatched and their music is god damn infectious and triumphant that we must play it at least 20 times in a row. It's hard to say something about Magic Man that we haven't before , but with each new song that graces our ear we're convinced more and more that these guys are just about the greatest thing in the world. Their latest offering "Texas" begins with the words "You are about to embark on the most wonderful experience of your life." Not longer after that the track explodes into some powerful drums and an awe-inspiring synth line that will make you want to finally do something with your life. Magic Man arrive to us via their infectious new single “Paris”. Huge melodies, slinky synths, and overall sense for getting you in the grandest of moods makes this Providence, RI band one our favorite discoveries of 2013 so far. This is simply a whole lot of fun. We now have the 2nd best song ever named “Paris” (After Friendly Fires’ classic, of course)

If there is anything I like, it's a good piano tune. This nifty jam entitled "Paris", starts off just like that. This is the first release from the Providence based band, Magic Man, and let me tell you, "Paris" is an already great piano jam which explodes into a great synth pop song. This is the kind of song I expect to hear in a quirky, indie movie starring Zoey Deschanel, and that one guy that does a bunch of quirky indie movies.You know who I'm talking about. If Providence's Magic Man plans to follow their new single "Paris" with an equally strong set of tunes for their sophomore album, they could stage a breakout similar to a fellow New Englander playing catchy synth-pop songs: Passion Pit. Though the quartet may have found a bit of inspiration with their stateside neighbor, they are certainly holding their own style down, with bouncy piano interludes and cool synth beats woven into a simply great vocal part. Somewhat unsure as to whether I'd bandy about the tagline 'triumphant synth rock band' were I indeed a part of such a thing, though I suppose it exudes the sort of confidence erudite Providence ensemble  Magic Man  illustrate in abundance on Paris. A giddy whirr in which together are swirled the unabashed euphoria of M832s Hurry Up, We're Dreaming opus (at least in scale, if not substance) and an irrefutably fist-pumping chorus, to revert to that earlier assertion the five-piece are already sounding that little bit, well, triumphant... The annual Jack Daniels Rock Awards honor the best in Indian indie music of the year gone by. Now in its eighth edition, the JD Rock Awards 2013 will take place at Bandra's Mehboob Studios on February 22, 2013. Past winners of awards include Mumbai's Scribe , electro-rockers Pentagram , folk band Swarathma , metallers Bhayanak Maut , and of course, many individual award winners.
