My Body - Pyramids (Frank Ocean Cover) Brooklyn’s synth pop darlings My Body made a wonderful cover on Frank Ocean ’s Pyramids . From the mind blowing opening over some serious psych dub marching rhythms to the sultry female pop vocals softly covered with the ’70s sounds of a psychedelic guitar, this cover could easily be cofused for an original! Take some time and listen ‘cause this might be one of the best covers the year 2013 has offered us….

Splashh continue to deliver hazy waves on the All I Wanna Do” b-side “Today (Fade Away)”. Heavy psych-pop riffs fill the air as raw energy starts to take over. Even though the band has hit their most aggressive, the hazy charm remains fully intact. Once again, this band makes the type of songs that are best heard while laying in the sand as the undying sun sits overhead. Stream and download below. The debut album Comfort will be out in September on Kanine.

What an intro! Then that amazing guitar tone hits you, followed by honey drenched vocals... yep, I’m a big fan of this tune. Brisbane’s Loomer will re-release their cult record ‘Ceiling’ on vinyl through Lost Race Records (Oz) and Permanent Records (US) on May 30. Only 100 – be quick! Loomer – 'Bolt' [...]
No vídeo, [...]

COSMO V - White Power Netherlands based female artist COSMO V strikes again with a delightful and colorful new tune. White Power drags a tropical essence in the heart of a psychedelic pop seed. A bedroom pop sonate covered in fuzzy, opium upbeat rhythms that in such ease blends the tropicalia sounds of an exotic place with the diy melodies of the far east! Α fresh cooler to spice your warm nights… Beauty….
The man formerly known as Run DMT follows up one of the best records of 2011 with an immersive collection of stellar throwback psych-pop jams created under his latest guise/questionable drug pun, Salvia Plath . This thing ranges from lovely pastoral folk to sunny, harmony-drenched '60s pop to much darker, subtly demented psychedelia; " House of Leaves " crosses paths with all three. Video directed by Sasha Desree + Renee Clark . The Bardo Story is out in July on Weird World .

Sometimes you have to go put yourself into an imaginary '60s place. I remember getting into these guys a few years ago, when I was apt to snatch up any album if someone told me it was a forgotten classic lovingly/belatedly reissued. Or maybe a rare specimen of exquisite artifice that the masses just didn't get around to appreciating, and then its moment passed. Well, I've still got that instinct, and I still believe all those possible futures are worth pondering. Here are a couple fine examples. The [...]

Γιος Της Αφής - Αδέξιο Τοπίο It was impossible not to let my self loose into these clappy funky sounds that Gios Tis Afis created with this song. Recorded and mixed from Baby Guru ’s King Elephant , Aris Diamantis is floating in a psych funk sea of an old skool groove that flourishes in his soft pop vocals and building this happy/sad feeling where you don’t know whether you should dance or just sit and enjoy this unexpected time travel!!! [...]

LAMBS - Freak Flag Have you missed a straight forward psychedelic rock band? Well, Ontario’s LAMB are here to drill your senses with their ’60s inspired sharpened sound and heavy guitar driven bombastic songwriting! A fine example comes with Freak Flag , a seductive mixture of Black Angels strictly psych obsessions with a twist from Arctic Monkeys British invasion on the vocal duties! A suitable match up that certainly pays off while Freak Flag goes deep into a smokey labyrinth [...]

The Vendetta Suite - Baby Blue Gary Irwin was a busy man during the ’90s and i can’t say that he felt tired during the ’00s! He’s worked at David Holmes ’ Exploding Plastic Inevatible Studio as an engineer, co-written tracks with Holmes , composed soundtrack for movies, remixed quite a few artists, released techno music under various names and the list keeps going! But as it seems Irwin has many unreleased songs in his luggage and he felt the need to [...]

Tv Girl & Monster Rally - Average Guy (Blame) Tv Girl has added vocals and a new arrangement to Monster Rally ’s track Blame off of the Beyond The Sea LP . The result is a tropical, feel good and uptempo psych pop delight that feels instantly like an old favorite while the smile on your face is not going to fade away anytime soon… Average Guy is being released in [...]

Italian musician Antonio Elia Forte bunkered down in a room in Whitechapel (London) with a small collection of microphones to record his debut LP ' Trees ' (released this week through Enclaves Music ). Now best known as Echopark , Antonio chose the psych pop leaning 'Teleportation' for the lead single. There's a whole heap of colours on offer, from dense vocal harmonies to distorted leads, catchy indie pop numbers backed up against acoustic pieces - stream Echopark 'Trees' @ Soundcloud . Echopark - 'Teleportation' [...]

Jai Paul - Untitled 7 (Jennifer Paige Cover) Ok, this is a surprise! Is there anyway XL Records let Jai Paul release on the web any unreleased material??? As it seems, yesterday Jai Paul uploaded on bandcamp an untitled album of 16 tracks with no information about it. These are probably demos that will not be featured on his upcoming album (or the other way around, who knows!!!) but the style and signature of this talented producer [...]

As major labels continue to exist behind the times, artists and labels with little capital and lesser reputations are producing some of the most innovative, interesting, and inspiring music. Whether it’s creating a new niche in digital technology or looking to once obsolete formats, Agitated Atmosphere hopes to pull back the curtain on a wealth of sights and sound from luminaries such as Bill Baird . The world of psychedelia has undergone numerous face lifts but few have been on the metaphysical level—that magnificently magenta aura that is often the subject of the sunnier side [...]

This tune is the audio equivalent of a comfy couch (and the artwork follows suit). Not one of those couches that sucks your arse into a vortex of fabric and cushions - I'm talking a well lived-in, this feels familiar kinda couch! I digress... you'll find a free download of 'Someone Disappeared' at Soundcloud . The Everywheres is the work of soloist Samuel Hill of Halifax, Nova Scotia. On June 25 The Everywheres debut self-titled album will be available through Father/Daughter Records - its shaping up to be a psych pop gem! The Everywheres - [...]
Here's a new tune from The Everywheres called "Someone Disappeared" that's perked up my ears today. It's definitely a psych-pop rock tune with it's groovy guitars and reverb laden vocals over everything. Think Black Angels meets Tame Impala if you will. It would certainly fit in nicely with their fore fathers of the 60s. Keep your eyes peeled for the self-titled debut LP hitting stores on June 25th via Father/Daughter Records . Stream the magical sounds of Larry Gus above and beware for his debut album on DFA to drop sometime soon….
While the opening acts set a high standard for Jaill to follow, the band's psych-pop style matched the energy of the night with ease.

Chrome Canyon 's Morgan Z reached out to some of his favorite producers for remixes of the tracks on his ethereal debut Elemental Themes . It seems that the producers he reached out to turned out to be impressed to do remixes for him & now Stones Throw has made the collection available via iTunes with a physical vinyl release due in June of 2013. To get you started, enjoy this Peaking Lights remix of "Chasing the Dead". 1. Branches (Gavin Russom [...]
