Purity Ring :  Lofticries - Video

While I did not fell head over heels for Purity Ring 's full-length Shrines , the individual songs were and will always be amazing - especially the earlier ones, like Lofticries . While we've all seen and loved David Dean Burkhart's unofficial found footage "Kill Bill" video, Purity Ring have put out an actual official video that in which you follow a series of people encounter quite different surreal moments (a bit like Kill Bill as well). Music videos can be total sensory overload. Over the past year and a half, Canadian future-pop duo Purity Ring have been generating a lot buzz with a string of flawless singles leading up to the release of their debut album, Shrines . Well, now the wait is over, and Shrines will be officially be released July 24th on 4AD . Purity Ring will be performing at Bottom of the Hill on September 3rd with Headaches and Evian Christ . Since getting a jump-start by creating the contest-winning video for M82s "We Own The Sky" in 2008, Young Replicant has become one of the most reliably great directing crews out there, and they continue their visual mastery with this fantastical clip for Purity Ring 's "Fireshrine". Featuring an array of enchanted, dream-like images and a loose storyline of a girl caring for her injured, statuesque (literally) boyfriend, the video is a wonderful mixture of captivating mystery and awe-inspiring beauty.

Assuming that some of you weren't lucky enough to grab tickets to this year's Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, here's some footage from yesterday. Purity Ring 's " Fineshrine " is a masterpiece, brilliantly paced and encapsulating your senses with driving percussion, chiming synths, and spine-tingling vocals. The video for the song was released by the duo a couple of days ago, and it contains as much depth and captivating beauty as the song itself. Watch it above. Purity Ring  have unveiled the second video crafted for the forthcoming Shrines .  Young Replicant  directed this piece for "Fineshrine," a surrealist clip that translates the track's visceral, anatomically-heavy lyrics into a story of bruised and bandaged dreamscapes. Purity Ring have a video out for their fantastic single, “Fineshrine”. The visuals follow the song’s tale of a deeply romantic, yet bodily obsessed heroin, whose unable control her habits. Purity Ring used to be our thing. Now they've got a VEVO ?? I guess "Fineshrine" has crossed over from Blog Radio to The Mall. The video for "Fineshrine" is a lot like Purity Ring's lyrics - you're not really sure what's going on. But it's a trip worth taking once. Our deep admiration for the musical genius that is Purity Ring doesn't stop with their music. Purity Ring 's music has always been evocative, it's one of the many reasons the duo has garnered so much attention. Their songs waste not a second to cultivate the images these two want us to see. You shouldn't be surprised that their videos are just as full of purpose. It's great to see Megan James’ nightmarish lyrics come to life in the stunning visuals found on their latest video for "Fineshrine." This may only be Purity Ring 's second video, but they aren't wasting time with introductions. There's no, "look at us, here we are" with Purity Ring, but they've still captured a unique aesthetic with their sounds and visuals that gets stronger with each great release.
