We watched a ton of music videos from local acts this year. And we determined that music videos are cool, but cool music videos are cooler. So, in the great tradition of year-end listicles, we combed through the lot and have determined these 10 are a cut above the rest due to look, style and creativity. We probably missed a few, and if you think so, feel free to drop us a line in the comments. Onward... 10. SUMMER GIRLFRIENDS -- "Goth Beach [...]

“Take Five” is an interview series that focuses on Chicago’s ever-growing music scene by giving you insight on the city’s best local acts via the best source possible: the acts themselves. We ask five questions, and they give five answers. Here is the latest installment featuring Rabble Rabble. Last time we had a meaningful discussion with Rabble Rabble was in late December of 2010 . Back then, they were a definite band on the rise who were building a solid local fan base thanks to their rowdy and liquor-fueled [...]

Rabble Rabble releases a brand new song and video. The song titled "Cole's Bathroom" is loosely based off of graffiti about the band/members in the Logan Square bar's bathroom. Check out the video and download the song for free via the band's bandcamp page . Rabble Rabble will be playing a apocalypse party on Dec.21st 2012 at the Empty Bottle with Magic Milk and Vamos.
As we reported last week, Rabble Rabble debuted their new video for "Cole's Bathroom" with a party at, yep, Cole's . Well, yesterday the clip finally stumbled onto the net, and it's more hilariously epic than I imagined. The opening scene finds the band members show of their acting chops in search of something vibe-altering, guitarist Andrew Kettering frantically searches for a new drug and the band literally rocking out in Cole's bathroom. Basically, Rabble Rabble are back, so brace yourself, Chicago. And don't forget you can catch them on Friday, [...]

Videotape Stuff. FRIDAY VIDEOTAPE Indie poppers Videotape create a relaxing dreamscape that is signature shoegaze, although somewhat darker in tone. The Chicago group mixes sweeping electronic background noises with light-as-cotton-candy pop harmonies and solemnly strummed guitars. On its Videotape EP the group’s sound lands somewhere between 90s vets Sneaker Pimps and Mazzy Star with its ghostly, empty Cathedral-esque atmosphere. Milktooth, Labors, and Jack & Ace (featuring Bob [...]
