Alix Perez hit the Radio 1 decks last week with his debut Essential Mix, a careful alliance of tracks representing the core of his preferred sound. Perez is first and foremost a drum-and-bass producer, but in his 120 minutes with Radio 1, it'd be easy to not really know that. He's experimental and "nu skool," often associated with the more "liquid" side of drum and bass. Well we're almost there. In what feels like a lifetime of waiting Daft Punk's new album will be out this time next week. Can't wait until then? Well, the Robot's 4th studio album, 'Random Access Memories', will be streaming via iTunes before the album's official release next week. We're not exactly sure of the timings of the stream, but the currently thinking is it will be sometime today as Zane Lowe will be playing some new tracks from the album tonight on Radio 1, at 7pm BST.
Premiered by Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 yesterday, Diplo just posted the tune up on his Soundcloud and gotta say that this is some serious ground shaking bass. "Earthquake" (due for release soon via Ministry of Sound Recordings) is the first single off DJ Fresh's new album, which is due for release sometime next year. So Daft Punk have spoken about their new album with Radio 12s Pete Tong, and we've got a few juicy details to share with you: firstly there won't be any proper videos for the future singles, apparently the duo don't want to cloud the music with too many visuals. Secondly, when pressed about remixes, the Robot's said they're considering remixing themselves, which would be a first for the duo. The thought of a Daft Punk remixes version of the album could well be the best news we've heard all year. Check out the full interview below.

Well this week they returned to Radio 1 for another live session, and this time tackled Daft Punk's phenomenally hooky 'Get Lucky', which premiered last week and features Nile Rogers and Pharrell Williams.
